I just love loot crates so much, can ZOS please just, instead of giving us a skill point every level to spend on skills, let us use those skill points on skill boxes, that have a chance of granting tiered level skills. So some lucky player will earn a super strong spell! and let us use crowns to increase our chances in skill boxes. because lets be honest. ZOS is a company and needs to make money. Oh, and rather than getting loot when we kill a creature or a boss, could we please get loot boxes that we can open for a variety of loot chances, with a very rare chance of it being something good. That would be so cool. Oh and last but not least, If we could please change the subscription model, so that whenever we pay $15, we roll for how many days of ESO+ we get. Yeah sometimes it will be less than 30, but it could also be more than 30! omg that'd be so awesome. OMG please do this ZOS right away!

Pay to progress faster = pay 2 win, because those who get somewhere faster take advantage of the situation over others. Same with Jewelery Research Scrolls - those who research faster get to sell faster and make a monopoly. It's pay to progress quicker. Completely different.

How about loot boxing Quests? For example: I really want to complete with main quest line right - but instead I should only have a chance of unlocking the quest! Think about what that could do for ZO$!! It would make them so much richer than they already are! That would allow them to invest even more in monitization developers to further extract joy from the game.
I think those clever foxes could implement log in loot boxes! Right, get this - You have to pay for a chance of logging in!

It's not pay to win though, because everything is available for free by simply playing.

And lets be honest, ZOS is a company like anyone else, and they need to be making money somehow.
Do you want Dev families to starve?

I think you're onto something here.
We could farm regular enemies around Tamriel, and they would have a chance of dropping Quest boxes. And the quest boxes could have a chance of granting a certain quest, and sometimes its the same quest, but I love doing the same quest over again, so it's fine. OMG ZOS hire this person!

Once you feed it quest pearls it will complete quests (randomly selected of course) for you. You only have to have the quest in your quest log at the time you use the quest pearl.
This way all the pesky casual content can be skipped by the right kind of people. ZOS really needs to look into that.
No.
Skill Points are meant for skills, not skill boxes. And with these said “skill boxes,” what is skillful about RNG? Just a terrible idea. The current business model is fine as is. If anything, weekly challenges or something should give Crown Crates along with the consecutive logins.

In an otherwise very, very sarcastic thread I think you might have hit on something. As much as the players hate these horrific crates I think having guaranteed ways of earning a crate or 2 a week could be a fairer way of managing them. Weekly/ daily challenges that offer a crate as a reward to compensate for the reduced drop rates (Pyan motif has added effectively 14 more trash items no one really wants).
But back to the topic at hand :P

I believe you get a crate every month from the new login reward system. For free.
