Full screen advertising is not appreciated

This morning, as I logged into each of my toons, I was greeted with a full screen crown store ad. This is crap and it needs to stop.

Send a bug report every single time it happens. ZOS will be getting a minimum of 45 bug reports about it from me every single day until they fix it so that it doesn't show up on every single relog.

bigger is not always better. To in my face advertising makes me less likely to get interested/buy. I get desensitized fast, it becomes just an annoying thing to click away. So I will start clicking it away without even registering what was on it. the more it gets forced upon me the less willing I am to even look at it.

It's not really a bug. It's just a bunch of ads pushed on us by a bunch of marketing drones. I just wish these people had the tiniest bit of sense.

The Crown Store folks are out of control in so many ways. Price hikes, selling things that should not be sold, in your face advertising, and lame reskins of "exclusive" items.

Why don't they read the Crown Store wish list threads? I'm pretty sure none of the above items will be found there.

you're right, i must say everytime the old ad got on my face, its timing wasn't necessarily bad and i always looked to see if there was something new. now the timing and size are just annoying, they will *** more ppl off than attract their curiosity.

This. Intrusive adverts never a good way to go with, the more annoying these ads are, the more you just teach the people to get rid of them without even bothering to look at them. And someone will write an adblock addon sooner than later.

I agree, this is too much. If it was just once, when you first log in it wouldn't be too bad, but having it come up every time you switch characters is annoying.

I also don't like that it's so big, I don't understand what was wrong with the previous crown store adverts. You still had to close them down to play (after reading them...of course) so you couldn't just ignore them, but it was a bit less obnoxious because it was just in the corner of the screen.

This is almost like they're saying "never mind the game, you don't want to see that, why not buy something instead?"

I may be wrong, as I don't spend that much time in the Crown Store section of the forums, but it seems like there is rarely any devs responding to concerns regarding the Crown Store. It's as if they've been instructed to not engage the community. For example, the thread about outfit token upgrades being too expensive is now 29 pages with not a single dev response.

This silence reflects poorly on ZOS. I'm not against them making money, but I also ask they treat their paying customers fairly. All of these monetization schemes add up and do cheapen the experience for many.

We've had the ~quarter-screen mini-advert that pops up every time already, it was annoyingly big enough to need closing every time, too. But, I don't remember anyone complaining about that one really, so, why complain about this one? Size does not matter if the effect is exactly identical: must close it to play the game.

Apart from it being an awful game in the first place, this is why i stopped playing Fable 3. Every time i logged in John Clease would constantly remind you that there was dlc available to buy. I don't mind there being ads for the CS, but they should be optional. Let those who don't mind them put up with them. By the same token, let those of us who dislike this *** have a toggle to switch them off and remain off. Once or even twice a week i can hack, not every day. Some of us don't appreciate ads.

I already made a post about the Greed Placard in my face with every single log in. I already pointed out I bought the game, the 2 expansions, much of the DLC AND I am an ESO+ subscriber.

It's so far over the top right now it pisses me straight off. To the point I am seriously considering abandoning this game, I won't even go into how offensive I find the gambling boxes.

There comes a point were it becomes clear a game has stopped being a game.

The size isn't even the worst part it's the every single log in with every single character using the excuse of letting you know when you'll be getting the next log-in reward to splash their ad at you 20 times more often than before.

The previous popup was effective enough. This one just looks hideous and makes me want to close it immediately without scrolling through.

Advertising trends on the internet are moving away from giant, intrusive ads due to their reduced effectiveness now - but ZOS ran towards it.

I just talked to Terry the escalation manager at ZOS CS - they've heard this feedback loud and clear from large numbers of players and are bringing it up in their "war room" report from today, so hopefully this will be changed soon.

A couple of years ago this started happening due to a bug and they stopped it saying it wasn't intended to happen everytime you log in.

Either it is a bug again (not likely since PTS has had it going the whole time) or they decided that it's good business practice to nag your customers (who are a captive audience for crying out loud, you don't need more than one time to advertise to a captive audience!) with the same adds over and over and over.

It's annoying as hell. I thought naively, that there is a switch in the options menu somewhere to shut it down, but, well, there is none.

The escalation manager I talked to mentioned the possibility of adding something in the options as a possible solution, but he was just spitballing ideas so I wouldn't necessarily expect that to be the solution they come up with (although it would make sense).
