How often does the queue put you with a toxic player?

There are a lot of polls and proposed changes to the Activity Finder. Many are because a toxic player kicked someone or got kicked or said mean things. I'm not belittling bullying (although ESO is meant for a mature audience), but I am rarely paired with a toxic player. I've never been kicked after hitting CP 160. How often do you find them? Very rarely. The only one I recall was the fake tank who had the gall to blame a lowbie DPS for kiting the boss out of AOEs when the boss fixated on that lowbie DPS because the fake tank wasn't taunting.

Most people I meet in groupfinder just want their dungeon/quest finished. The only ones who ever get snappy are the fake tanks when I point out that my healer is tanking the boss and would they maybe like to slot a taunt and do their job properly?

Being offended has nothing to do with knowing toxic behavior. You don't need to be offended to know someone is being a *** when they don't need to be.

Seeing a person calling someone else names, multiple attempts to vote kick, followed by a final *** you before leaving the group is quite obvious toxic behavior.

Honestly its almost always before we even start. I can't count how many times i have loaded into a dungeon to see a vote kick initiated before I even open the team menu to see what everyone's lvls are. I never vote kick unless the person has proven they are not in correct role. A tank that can't taunt or stay alive once they engage a boss. A healer that doesn't have a heal or some good buffs slotted.

And 90% of group content I do with group finder or zone pug... PC EU.
The few most horrible and toxic players I encountered during 2 years were from "friendly pve guild with family feeling" :D

Long time ago I learned to pug fearlessly, and to never join guilds "with family feeling" again

Toxicity is a bit subjective. Someone I get along fine with could be considered toxic by others. This might explain why some players find they are grouped with toxic players more often. They are subjectively toxic to them, but would be considered just fine by others. Some of it is of course having a bit of tolerance for toxicity, but that's not really what this poll is about. I can be tolerant of toxic players and complete the content with them, but I can still recognize that I'm not enjoying the run as much as I could.

I'd say that maybe 1 out of 20 runs I find someone I would consider mildly toxic. I can count the number of times I've initiated a vote kick on one hand and I don't think I've ever been voted out of a group ever.

I am very doubtful that this happens in any large amount, to be honest. The vast, vast majority of PUGs I run anymore hardly say anything besides "TYFG" at the end of the dungeon to "Hello" at the beginning, even with groups that cannot do the content. I would be very interested to see what behavior people encounter so often, especially the claims of over 50%
Very rare, had two experiences I remember. Note some saying group suck before leaving does not count here.

Has a feeling people are either moving on to fast: LA spammers in an already weak group in normal dlc. <cp160 in the unnumbered vet dungeons. Or obvious fake roles who deserve no sympathy.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

A word/term doesn’t need to be in a dictionary to have meaning.

I also think your personal definition of it is a bit off compared to the majority of gamers. From my understanding, it’s more of a description for selfish, rude players. Just because you aren’t affected by someone being selfish and rude doesn’t change the fact that they’re being selfish and rude. It’s not something that’s determined by personal interpretation. It’s determined by its effect on the community involved.

    PC NA here.

I have honestly only had 1 person from the queue in all my time playing since April 2014.

I do normally try to just make a group in /zone chat for pledges and such. But I still do my fair share of random normals and random vets.

I could also just be lucky.

I think depending on which dungeon it is too can predict if you will see friction-like behavior. There are some dungeons I just avoid because you know the chances of finding a PUG to work the mechanics properly are slim. Where as if its an easy one there is less chances to cause the issues. So in those hard ones I prefer to avoid Pugging its not so much Toxic players, but annoyed players lashing out at the circumstances, Sure sometimes this crosses over into TOXIC behavior, but I take the situation into concideration.

Its when you get that person in the easy dungeon that acts like king of DLC dungeons that starts belittling others before anything starts that i am calling toxic for sake of this poll. Perhaps its bad luck for me but I do see someone like this it seems 1 out of every 5-6 runs.

NOW that all being said, I would say I find WAY more cool folks, it does seem like its rare to get 2 Toxic people in the same dungeon, but wow when you do. I remember a VBC1 run with an absolutely toxic No-taunt tank, and a Very bad DD ignoring the red circles wondering why hes wasn't getting healed type. These two went at it all dungeon before they both quit, despite no wipes. It went quite smoothly once they were replaced.
    Ummm stuff… about stuff…or something.

People on group finder are very toxic to "greener" players. Either a vote to kick is initiated right if the start or "veteran" players berate others for not knowing mechanics. I just assume that people that kick lower levels suck and depend on others to get them through the content.

I dont do that many random dungeons so low number i guess.

I do have a high tolerance so i dont get *triggered* that easy.
In my line of work i know how to handle those type of people.

But in games i do have some tricks to deal with them (so they leave the game), without breaking rules of any kind.

    My favorite:
    Toxic player: $%$%%$%%$%$$%$%%%%
    Me: Apple?
    Toxic player:$%###&$%$%$%%$#%#%#%
    Me: Potato?
    Toxic player:$&%&%/$&$/$$&
    Me: Tomato?
    Toxic player:%&/%&$/$($###"
    Me: Banana?
    Toxic player leaves the group/game

Trick is to not give them a satisfaction, wich funnels them. Making them fell akward cools them down.

I mostly play solo so the only times I PUGed were during the Jester and Anniversary events and wow was that an ILLUMINATING EXPERIENCE.

Actually the times I met cool people were when we commiserated about a third player's VERY RUDE (since apparently some here are pretending the word toxic doesn't have meaning) behavior.
