You always get something from the crates in fact you always get at least 4 items from the crates and sometimes 5, so your not not getting something, your not just getting what you may want. You dont always get what you want in life, people should be use to this by now???12 -

✭✭The drop rate is horrible and almost nothing but the apex mounts is really worth it, so if you dont get the mount it just means you almost threw away your money.

I’m not criticizing you, just setting realistic expectations of what it takes to get some of this stuff. Play a mobile game or two and you’ll have a better idea—probably better impulse control too. Oh please try harder to justify this *** system. Maybe ZOS might kick you some free crates that will give you nothing.
Its utterly exhausting having this debate every bloody time. If you can find one person purchasing crown crates specifically because they want the potions or XP scrolls I will be seriously impressed. Everyone who buys them is buying them because they want cosmetics which they cannot get any other way, the consumables are just there to make you spend more. they are all too common and its painfully cynical from ZOS.
Adding motif pages into the loot boxes is another attempt to pad out what content you can realistically get which will lower the desirable drops even more. Players bending over backwards to justify ZOS actions does nothing to help and reeks of an 'i'm all right jack' way of thinking which helps no one.
Just consider it a moment:
ZOS won't release the drop rate percentages
Colours, sounds etc. are designed to keep you blinding plugging money in
Consumable rewards are added in decreasing the chance of getting anything good
Now 14 motif pages will be added therefore adding another 14 items you probably don't really want.
No part of this is player friendly. At least when you go into a casino you know the odds. This is so much worse.

This. Taking money you've earned to chuck it at a crooked system isn't' really something that warrants sympathy. Obviously, the system is designed to create situations like the OP describes - mindlessly plugging in money until they 'win', but ZOS aren't out anything so win or lose for the player the house always win.

I think I've bought 8 maybe (with ESO + crowns) but most of my crates were free. I then save the gems till about 100. Got me a sabertooth mount.
I also never purchase from the crown store (except the guars and the banker) so most items are all new to me. Also because I don't stay subbed long, it took me about 7 months of saving to get the banker.

Only things in those boxes I've ever been slightly interested in is the 40-gem-level costumes. I honestly don't understand why anyone's interested in those ugly "apex" mounts.0
