Transmute crystals from coffers get wasted if you have full transmute inventory.

What's the deal. You can't open geodes if your inventory is full, so why consume the ones from coffers (and I assume VMA, VDSA)
I think I had 196 yesterday and did vHRC, used the coffer, not realizing it would consume them, so I just assumed I had 195.
I just did nmol, tested it out with 200 crystals, for experimental purposes, It took them into oblivion.

Why destroy? When you're near cap, just craft an iron dagger or something and transmute it to nirnhoned. Deconstruct it.

Geodes only have crystals in them and coffers have other loot so it makes sense to me that you'd be able to open coffers when you're over the cap. I suppose there should be a prompt asking if you're sure you want to open the coffer and reminding you that you're over the cap.

Or you know, it wont let you take stuff out of the coffer if you inventory is full, just like normal inventory...

Yeah, so apparently transmuting does not use up a trait stone, but deconing it gives a chance for that stone to drop.

...In addition, in case anyone thinks this may be an exploit, keep in mind that it is not a 100% drop for extracting the nirn, after you spend the tranmute gems. Also, since the gems are not hoardable, neither are the nirncrux hoardable by this method

DON'T DESTROY, just transmute an item into nirnhoned, then decon item to get material. As long as you have the passives you can get the material.

why not just leave only the transmute crystal in the coffer and keep the coffer in your inventory? have about 30 of them in there LUL

It takes up inventory and there are times where inventory managing comes to pinch and squeeze here and there... (anniversary event really pushed my inventory managing skills.

And its just worth 15K something, or the same as two ebonshadow motifs from crow dailies.
Another option is to transmute some gear you probably will use later. Did it on Jorvuld’s Guidance as I wanted it on templar, naturally I got another infused robe in next run :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
