I have no opinion about P2W, but you'll be buying about 50 to 55K crowns to do it all through Crown Store jewelry scrolls.

I don't feel the need to drop $350 to $400 on stuff I could wait 5 to 6 months to craft, especially when it only takes about a month of waiting for research to get 6 traits once you've gotten the jewelry for research.

It's more pay for speed. I doubt it's worth spending so much money on a 1 off grind.

Even still I hate the hypermonetization.

Was thinking about this too, while you can if you get enough master writs, cut your research time down to about half. The crown store ones dont have a cool down. If the work the same as the other research time scrolls. I think its more pay to get rich in game than pay to win. Even then, i think what will be the biggest gold bringer will be the mats from refining and deconstruction. There are crafted set combos i want to try now and if your one of the first you COULD charge alot for them and make gold.However the in demand sets, julianos, hundings, acuity, fortified brass, shackle breaker, hist bark, seducer etc are all under 6 traits so it will only take like a month. Then most of the other relevant sets like kags, armor master, you probably want in armor form anyway since there tank sets.

So yes a little pay to get rich but not for any meaningful length of time and the main gold maker (mats) everyone (who has summerset) will have access too, in they put in the effort.

Not to mention it will still take time to get the jewelry with the traits on it, i think one trait you need to complete the summer set and psjic stories to even get.

As is, jewelry crafting is borderline pointless.
If the traits were any good, u could just research every trait on a different alt and retrait what u need.
There is no combination of two 9 trait sets thats actually good (enlighten me if there is).
The master writs r not worth the time it takes to type destroy.
I prolly wont even put points in the passive for faster research. I wont have a reason to actually craft any jewelry any time soon. (rip nmg)
If u wanna profit from jewelrycraft, dont bother with it. Just sell the raws, the upgrademats and the traitstones.

If you want to spend your money speeding up reseach for crafting jewelry sets that are, mostly, inferior to the vast array of dropped sets, be my guess. The only thing jewelry crafting does is speed up the gearing process by allowing you to just farm dungeons/Trials for armor pieces instead of getting jewelry/weapons from the last boss and chests only.

That isn't pay to win, that's pay for an alternative grind to be EXACTLY the same as the other people that have the same gear in different places. No 2 crafted sets are going to be used in trial settings and there's nothing really powerful about most crafted sets in PvP either.

Drop this P2W crap until ZOS decides to sell Arena Weapons in the crown store.

Can they also be bought with writ vouchers, like other research scrolls? If so, not p2w.

It's objectively pay to win, it just stops being pay to win after the course of a few months, when everyone else has had time to get the traits researched. Jewelrycrafting offers distinct numerical advantages unavailable to players who go without it. For the research scrolls in particular, the ability to apply any trait to your items early via transmutation provides something that others will lack. The only thing that's confusing people is the abstraction provided by its implementation via crafting. If they offered Bloodthirsty Spriggan's gear on the cash shop people would be flipping tables, but that's the exact effect this will have on gameplay.

These scrolls can't go live like this. Keep them off the servers until several months have elapsed and people have had time to do the research the normal way.

You can get to level 50 and have all the traits researched as fast as you want. It's not going to speed up the rate you'll be gaining 80 gold mats per jewelry piece required for gold upgrades.

Yes, these timer resets will get you researched faster. It won't get you crafting any faster unless you have a massive influx of mats coming from somewhere.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Is ZOS dropping the 'rule' of do no harm regarding crown store items? I know that it has been the long standing protocol that crown items have an in game alternative that is either on par or better than the crown version... take the XP scrolls and the ambrosia's as an example.
