Do you guys? I do from time to time, mostly because I arrive (running or long-jumping from my mount) to the writs boxes to deliver the quests, I miss the crate and steal an axe, staff or something.

✭✭Not usually. The boxes are big enough I can move my cursor away from the little things. But I have a tendency to completely miss the NPCs at guild traders and click on (steal) all the random crap their booth is decorated with.2 -

Have done a few times 'til I learned to just slow down a bit. Also I have stopped dropping my ultimates there as well.

There is the setting for "do not loot stolen items" in the game settings.
I steal from both guild kiosks and writ turn-in almost daily. It only takes 60 seconds for the bounty to disappear, and every toon has Clemency, and Escape Artist. Not worth my time to be careful.0 -

In other words, I have, on a number of occasions, accidentally opened a "stealable" container that happened to be next to a crate, or an NPC, or a crafting station or what not, but typically I see that I've opened the container (instead of whatever I was actually trying to do) and immediately close out of it rather than continuing to push the "A" button.
Once, I failed and stole a greatsword that was next to the blacksmith station. In Mournhold, I think, next to that Argonian NPC. Highly annoying, that.
