Casual and Social Guilds non existent?

Disclaimer - I have already posted about this in the guild sub forum for Xbox EU, but it hasn't had a single reply in over a week. That subforum is completely dead apart from people pleading to join guilds and not getting any answers.

So yeah, not sure how prevalent this is on other platforms, but on XBox EU, it seems that every single one of the social/casual guilds has died, and the only guilds available now are either PvP, Trials or Trading.

Has this become a problem on other platforms? Does anyone else here on my platform know of any active casual and social guilds who are just there for chat/banter, helping each other out with minor stuff, fun group sewer runs etc?

It sounds so wierd. On PC, 90% of the guilds is casual, so I guess ur platform has better community.

Almost all on pc uses chat so that channel is more active.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    PC NA here.

Basically, there is not much to “play with your real life friend” here in ESO, there the social guilds are for friends you met here only. And this kind of friendship bound is based on this game, not chatting about your life, so when you and your eso friends are making a guild, it's mean to do something than just chit chat. Whether it's pve pvp or for some play game like work guys, trading.

My experience is, unless you are talking to someone real new to eso, when you are getting along and you feel like you want to invite him/her to your social guild, the first responds are always “what does it do?”/ “trader location?” /“guild full”.

I was trying for managing trader guild for a while til I realize it's work and not fun, so I let the guild die, it's been only me and few friends since

PS4 N4. My main guild is social and I have others that are socially oriented. The strange change has been that the main guild now has far more members (almost the maximum 500) and yet the amount of actual socialisation has gone down compared to when it was smaller. Some of the most social players now just seem to play less and interact less. Some others left permanently.

On PC/EU at least there are plenty, I think such guilds usually don't advertise on the forums though.

Honestly, I've noticed a trend like this myself. When I was leading my RP guild on PC, it was casual and great, but ever since I migrated to console, the PC guild just became inactive, and I've had a hard time keeping the console guild active without pushing it out of the casual zone. This has happened with a lot of guilds I think, but as to how much a concern it is I cannot say. Hardcore guilds are not necessarily bad. It is just difficult when many in my own guild want to push for hard requirements, and strict rules, pushing it to become a different sort of guild, and not the open welcoming guild I started. For a lot of people that kind of guild is more hassle than it is worth. Then again, it is difficult to keep the guild active if it is casual like that, especially if I as the guild founder play other games, and not just ESO all the time, and I work 50 to 60 hours a week.
