can someone do some number work? i'm not very good at it.

basically i want to see if my theory is right in that roughly 1/5th of sets are the only viable ones in majority of content.
so i need to find out how many sets exist in total, how many are actually useful in PvE, how many are actually used in PvP and if some are so borderline useless that they arent used anywhere.

this might seem like a bit of hefty work but if my theory hold then we have a huge lack of diversity problem in both sides of the game that should be brought more to light so that they can revise the state of unused sets to bring back more options.

You will still have min/maxxers that will find the most optimal build. then people will just follow these builds. The truth is you can probably use all sets and clear all content, but again because they haven't been determined BiS people don't use them

The only way you will ever have all sets being used "equally" would be to have them all give the exact same bonuses. Then people can use what they like the name of the most. Maybe if you have a 5 piece you get a costume for that armor so you can look different so other players know what set you choose to wear.

min and maxers can be a problem true, but when things are as uneven as say... 5 piece of most crafting sets being tickles compaired to enchant procs (that flame one in the first zone for instance) or ones that are very specific triggers being roughly the same damage as ones who proc on stuff basic as light damage, just makes those sets so lack luster.

i'd love to see say the ice sets become stronger because of the very narrow trigger options, but this is why i need number work done so we can fully see just how awful the set balance is.
