No new bard songs?

One of the highlights of Morrowind for me were the new songs.

So one of first things I did on Summerset pts is find the bard and check out what they sing.

And I was kinda disappointed that they sang both vanilla and Morrowind songs, but no new unique ones.

So, Summerset won't have new songs? Or they are just not implemented yet in early build?

The new songs haven't been recorded yet. The songs are typically the last thing added.

I remember that I played the Morrowind PTS.... then a bunch of months later when I bought morrowind... and I was wandering around Sadrith Moria and the "clift strider" song started and i just started laughing... it was the fist time I had heard the thing.

Just testing this on PTS. I can confirm that yes, there are in fact new songs in the game. I've only found one bard so far (in the Anchors Aweigh Inn in Shimmerene), but you can hear for yourself if you're able to make it on the PTS and try out the /lute emote (stop and restart the emote to shuffle songs til you get a new Summerset one).

I heard a new one from a bard in Alinor out on the streets. So yes, there are new ones.

Have you tested out /lute, /flute, and /drum yet? That is usually a better indication. I'll admit I haven't tried any yet myself, otherwise I'd be able to say.

Not tried that yet, as there's just so much to try. Will give it go when I get home from work.

Thanks! Haven't played Morrowind beta. Nice to know that there's still hope for new songs.

I hope they add some. Isn't there like a sort of performer's guild as part of the storyline, or side storyline about it? They should definitely not short change something like that.

I thought they did have one that sang somwhere outside alinor but I dont know if it was new songs cause I couldnt hear her. It sounded like the same voice as the ones in morrowind though.

There are a lot of talented fans. I bet they could have a contest for people to write and perform new bard offerings and stick the winners in different locations in the game. Maybe in a polished, final performance.

They get free content, fans get fun, and potential music inclined folks may give up the rights to their offering, but they still get bragging or resume rights for the win.

To help you pinpoint her a bit more, she's very near the house you can buy in Alinor. Just go out the front door and keep walking straight and you'll see her.
