Will summerset affect magicka sorcs? Pet build using necropotence and moondancer

Not necessarily. Sorc still needs to use an Asylum Staff frontbar. Likely we will backbar a Maelstrom Staff too.... so no change for us. It’ll def buff non-Asylum Staff Mag DPS.

The light attack damage buff will improve Mag DPS for sure though.

I mean... technically 5 piece of moon dancer might be interesting with harmony trait with synergies giving what was it 30 something more effect.

5pc MD already is pretty great, since the synergy changes. Can easily keep 100% uptime on trials. You should use a buff tracker so you know when to hit a different synergy to swap buffs.

Wouldnt we be better off with the 5 piece bonus from IA or MD over an Asylum Staff? I mean, I already run 5x necro, 4x Infallible Aether and 2x Ilambris, pretty much just turns it into a free 5 piece IA for me (I got two IA staves).

You get the extra slot all 2H get small PvE buff.

The rest isn't good. Megapsjic skills you won't have bar space for or need to compensate slots for and some tanky stuff we don't want.

Aegis non toggie maybe help loads tho actually. Front bar it

Need to buff pets health little bit . Bosses still one shot the pets. Currently still not viable post summerset. Again it's for only for pet sorcs op asked.

Someone needs to be the one to keep up super high Concussion uptime. Plus anyway, you keep the Burning status effect up too.

What I will say is that I question the strength of the Maelstrom Staff next patch. Now we can just run a Moondancer Staff backbar..... essentially Maelstrom Staff bonus vs Moondancer bonus and extra 1x Spell Damage bonus on backbar. I’m on console so can’t test anything

Frontbar asylum won’t be necessary with one of the new psijic skills, IMO 5/5/2 will be the way to go, with vMA backbar

One thing that wasn't mentioned is that petsorcs can stack everything in max mag now and dont have to worry about spell damage as much as before. I think for a petsorc, 5 necro and mage mundus will be BiS together with vma backbar and either 5 acuity or 3 moondancer + asylum staff. Infused on big pieces. Maybe even Destruction Mastery.

The reason why this wasn't as good before is that LA/HAs were a siginificant part of your dps but did not scale off max magicka.

You'll be pulling more dps in general with this patch. Magicka sorcs are getting some nice smaller buffs, and magicka in general is gonna be hitting harder.

I have yet to get maelstrom staff drop. Im hoping 5-5-2 will be bis. Or at least vert close. Sick of maelstrom. Lol
