Summerset PTS Download Speed: Snail's Pace

My other PC has a direct wire RJ45 connection to my 802.11ac router, broadband provisioned at 250MB/ps. Nevertheless, with the Launcher update complete, Summerset PTS has been downloading for over five hours and is only at 20% complete! PC is an Intel i7, 16GB RAM, all drivers current. Fast throughput on other sites.

Something needs to be done to improve download rate. Attn: @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom, and whoever checks PTS download throughput. This must be a terrible disincentive to those with slow internet connections or trying to download over WiFi.

Posting here because nothing on the ESO Help portal is applicable.

I have the same problem. The whole night AND day and another half of the night and... 23% downloaded I'm on wifi here though and maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm in Europe?

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hopefully the Hot Fix coming 4/18(?) improves the download problem.

I had the same problem where it took hours to get to around 50%. After that though, for some reason, it started downloading much faster. I think it took around 6 hours to get to 50%, but afterwards it only took an hour or so to get to 100%. I finished it within a day, but I'm on a wired network, so that definitely helps.

Same here, it report 2.44 MB/s but it its on 15% and 35500 KMB reminding started downloading just after pts went live.

Same problem here. I have 250MB cable connection, just my wife and I in the house. I have a gigabit connection on my PC and local router, and am hardwired.

I let it run for 9 hours yesterday, and it got to 19%.

had to reboot PC, and restarted the download last night, around 1030 PM. By 11PM it had verified the first 5%.

I got up and just checked it at 8AM, and it was at 6%.

at the fastest rate I've managed to achieve, it would take 2 full days to download.

at the speed I managed last night, it would take just shy of eternity.

I was downloading it for 2 nights and 1 day - at its best I had 23%, then I went to bed and when I woke up it was back at 11% so I don't think you'd have it downloaded even if it kept that fastest rate and was left for downloading for 2 days

I've been trying to download mine since I got the beta invite on Thursday. I foolishly tried following advice to repair my installation, which resulted in no improvement to download speed, and losing all my download progress.

Currently at 89%. I'm going to throw a little party when it reaches 90.

Edit: [produces a bottle of champagne, a cake and a small noisemaker]

For me the speed got better but after the whole thing downloaded I kept getting a crash report window every time I hit play Repairing made it download again but I don't know if it fixed the problem or not, because... the speed got worse again.

I'm on my 3rd day of just trying to get the patch itself. Haven't even attempted logging in. I'm at 19%...

I deleted all the subfolders in PTS. When I restarted the Launcher PTS download completed in several hours. High speed Broadband with hardwire RJ45 from router to PC. Hope this helps.
