Summerset Patch: DK regen?

As per the Summerset patch notes:

Combustion: This passive ability now also restores 250/500 Magicka or Stamina to you when you apply the Burning or Poisoned status effects to an enemy. These effects can occur once every 5 seconds.

Am I missing something? I don't understand what the hype is about DK's regen getting a massive buff. Doesn't 500 Magicka/Stamina once every 5 seconds equate to 100 magicka/stamina regen?

So, our regen would go from 1700 to 1800? Am I reading it wrong? Or is it supposed to say 500 magicka/stamina a second?

Any insights would be helpful.

500 stam/mag every 5 seconds equates to 200 regen, since your regen value represents the amount of a resource you get back every 2 seconds.

It might seem small, but it's not insignificant.

Exactly my thoughts. Everyone was hyping up mdk next patch but I read the tool tip the exact same way and surely 100 extra mag per second is nothing to ride home about. Maybe 200 per second is a considerable buff..but 100..? :/

It's equivalent to 200 regen, which is a pretty decent chunk in PVE, and is enough to make Mag DK's rotation sustainable with ele drain and orb support.

Basically it puts you at the point where you can sustain off of one heavy attack per off balance, rather than needing constant heavies.

Stam DK is much the same, and can actually make use of a Light Attack rotation as well.

    Thanks guys!

Yeah, that's not too bad, then. Hell, I've been surviving off 1550 regen, anyway. An extra 200 will be nice.

    I appreciate the buff, ZOS.

(but please still consider my empowering chains idea)

It's an actual legit buff. A small one, but no backhanded nerf to go with it. I'll take it!

for magicka DK, a legit buff in both pve and pvp. for stamDK it is equal to much less, with only one poison ability on my bar, and argonians, bosmers being immune, I don't see this becoming useful.
