The Richardness is found not only in MMOs but the human race is made up of a ton of Richards. Hence the likeliness of running into them in an MMO as well.

It's simple math...

Being a Richard isn't always black/white. There is a large grey area in the middle that is very subjective. One persons Richard is another persons most favorable trait. You have to keep an open mind and realize that even though someone thinks they are on the receiving end of Richardness, they may in fact be just as much of a Richard to that other person.

Richardness is EZ to determine... If actions are only geared towards yourself... then it's Richardness...
If you think of others... it's not...

If you think of others... it's not...

What if my actions are benefiting myself and 2 other members of a group, but the 4th member is not benefiting or is possibly being negatively affected by the actions which are helping 3 group members? Who is the Richard?

I think he was illustrating the point of view of a hyper-competitive and adversarial personality.

Pretty much underscores another problem of humanity: groupthink and tribalism.

Everything boils down to "us" vs "them".
