I won't lie, I don't know if this is a complaints thread or you're not sure what they do and are looking for advice.

    From how I understand it,

Healing Taken: The Healing you do to yourself.

Healing Received: Being Healed by other players.

Healing Done: The overall amount of Healing that you do to yourself and others.

    Here´s how healing is calculated:

This text is taken from one of Asayre´s threads on Tamrielfoundry:

The base healing formula for a healer using a variety of sources of Healing Done and Healing Taken and Healing Received is

    69109706acc839c7d3607a15a8231fae.png

The Tooltip value is increased by Restoration Master, Soul Siphoner, Major Mending and the Ritual Mundus. These add additively. Healing Done was tested with Blessed. Healing Taken was tested with Tormentor and Leeching sets. Healing Received was tested to be additive with Quick Recovery [Champion Point], Rapid Mending [Heavy Armour Passive], Minor Vitality [Swallow Soul & Coagulating Blood], Burning Heart [Draconic Power Passive] and Quick to Mend [Argonian Passive].

    Example

A C160 Argonian cast Healing Springs. This character has 12% Healing Taken from the Tormentor and Leeching Sets and has 100 points in Blessed (25% Healing Done) and 100 points in Quick Recovery (16% Healing Received). In addition, this character is wearing 7 Heavy armour pieces (7% Healing Received), has the Minor Vitality buff, has a Draconic Power ability active and has 3 points in the Quick to Mend passive. This tooltip value includes the bonuses from Restoration Master, Major Mending and the Ritual Mundus.

Also want to add that this text comes from a thread that is over 2 years old, so can´t tell for sure if something has changed or not :pensive:

You can never reduce anyone´s healing to 0.

If you were able yo figure that out from a list of healing phrases and WTF then you might be the worlds current Sherlock Holmes.

You are sure healing taken is not all healing on you from all sources?

    has not studied it much.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

There were definitely 2 types of incoming heal increase, not sure which one is where, but the formula was Outgoing healing * Incoming healing 1 * Incoming Healing 2

Did you know by putting "*" as a place holder for profanity is against community rules? Subverting the profanity filter. Just thought id let you know since I received a warning for this.

Also, we recently talked about this and it can get confusing for sure.

This is what was explained to me.

Healing taken, skills like swallow soul etc
I believe Received is any healing from you or any other source. And I believe done buffs the effectiveness of your heal.

I may be wrong but I know if you type into google "healing taken" I believe the first link has a good explanation.

Healing Received is from all sources, including your own. Healing Taken is when you use a skill like from the Siphon Line and suck the Health from an Enemy. Now, that is how it is supposed to work. But does Healing Taken apply to all sources, not sure. That is the big question.

I saw a different post where someone said they tested Momentum and it benefited from Healing Taken.

Why would Taken be on nearly every heavy tank armor if it only applied to a narrow range of leeching style self-heals?

Well ok, then what is the difference between Taken and Received? Consider that Received might be the more restrictive of the two. Taken is from any source and Received is as a gift, only from someone else. Shame on ZOS that we are having this conversation. Are in game tooltips or meaningful help files with definitions so difficult?

Healing Recieved includes you. They really need to clean up and normalize a lot of these substats—it’s unnecessarily bloated. What’s wrong with a plain ol’ “Healing” stat?

Healing done is your outgoing. This can be buffed on the incoming side by CP passives, etc.

    Regarding the other two:

As I understand it, Healing Received = Healing Taken less and potential Debuffs (such as Defile) + any potential buffs (Vitality, etc).

It's more *** that shouldn't have to be figured out.

Full disclosure, I may have the above two reversed, as I left my Captain Crunch Secret Decoder Ring in my other robe.

Someone can Healing Springs you for 4k, for instance, but you may get increased heals from Vitality or decreased heals from Defile.

In a scenario where there are neither buffs, nor debuffs, the two should be exactly the same value.
