could this ever be a feature in ESO?

it would be nice to look for guilds based on keywordsin descriptions and so on, for role players, pvpers, casual content runners, trading, crafting and trials.

    Nvm, mistook the topic.

Generally Guilds advertise in chat, and that way its really easy to chat with someone who knows the guild.

It would be a good idea. The only caveat is, because ESO caps their guilds at 500, popular ones fill up fast.

well, ok. so with that train of thought, what's the point of dungeon finder?

in any case, the idea has been tried in other MMO's, such as Rift and i think Tera? i didn't play much of that one, so i dont remember. it's pretty cool

Other games have this. It could be a great feature here as the game still has loads of life left in it and the feature would probably be used often. It would ease up on zone recruitment a bit and give smaller niche guilds an outlet for passive recruitment.

As much as I like this idea, I also remember that I never had luck with this in WoW as a feature.

Do a guild search, find guild I like that caters to what I'm interested in, petition to join, never hear back because the guild never checked to see if they got join petitions or, because this was frustrating, you had to be logged in for them to accept it.

So if they do add something like this, I'd at least like to see something added that would pop up a notification alert to the guild leader or officers that someone is requesting to join and also one that is wanting to join when their petition is accepted by the guild regardless of if they are online or not.

that is essentially how it works.

In rift, you'd get a window to find guild listings, it would show available guilds based on what kind of guild youre looking for. you'd read their recruitment message/ description and if you wanted to join, you'd click the application button and tell about yourself and it would be at the leisure of the GM to recruit you or not
