Mournhold is a hot spot with guild traders and crafting right at the wayshrine. Only thing you have to move for is the bank.

All my characters moved from Rawl’ka to Vivec City after Morrowind dropped. I don’t mind that it’s a construction zone. The bank is outside, meaning no loading screen for grabbing all my pre-made potions and food items for all my 18 toons. All the crafting stations are close to the wayshrine, the stables, the crafting turn-in dude, and the thieves den. I wish it had an outfit station, but I can port to my house for that.

If there’s a loading screen between crafting and the bank in the new area, I’ll be staying in Vivec.

I didn't see one in any of the videos. But looking at the map in the following video (9:41), it does appear there is a wayshrine inside the city (I thought it was only in front). Not sure how long it would take to walk from it to the crafting stations. Hopefully not long. And hopefully the traders and bank will be nearby.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjSpmxM6vI8&t=779s

Thanks for sharing this vid! Alinor looks very beautiful! Per locations, I don't mind if things are a dash spaced out if it looks good.

For stable master, a gryphon mount stable master would make sense since that part of the city is too deep for a horse stable master and the mountain side would make for a good perch or gryphon stable tower and would be convenient and cool

Except for the part where, aren't gryphon riders exceptionally rare, even among the High Elves?

That'd be a little like having Yagrum Bagarn manning the bar in Markarth.

    I said stablemaster, not stablemasters

My favourite spot is Riften. The reason being that it's less popular among players. Less lag, no bear pets blocking access to crafting stations beats shaving a few seconds from crafting writs. Personally, I don't understand about the whole efficiency/speed concept. While it's understandable IRL, I find it amusing the way that people apply it to the virtual world.

Why would the concept of time apply differently to the virtual world? You want to spend less time doing tedious things and more time doing fun things.

Alinor is going to be my main crafting hub in any case. I predicted in front of my friends: Alinor is going to be a convenient crafting location and it turned out being true. Lovely

The whole point of the banker is access to guild store which the assistant doesn't provide.

Writ turn-in is in the wrong place.

Also, if you want to show the Outfit station, it is two Cantons away on the right. That is also where the closest house is located.

Yeah. Alinor is only better than Vivec if the loading screens are better. But, based on what I saw, there is a good chance I will relocate to Summerset.

IMO it's a tough competition w/Rawlkha and Vivec. Both offer really easy access to all crafters, mercants, and bank. RK is my favorite mostly due to looks/lore. Bank is behind a load screen (fast one tho), but Wayshrine, bank, and stables are all just a few steps away from each other, making doing dailies easy with alts (I time my horse skill purchase w/dailies so I get it all in one lump).

For Alinor to compete in my book Bank needs to be in open area similar to Vivec, and Wayshrine needs to be closer, as does the stables. It will certainly be a fun place to craft, but once the looks age a bit (I get used to them), I could easily see myself going back to RK. It's just too convenient to craft in RK.

Still not seeing how this beats Rawl'ka.

Have to see when it hits PTS if it has:

    1. Guild Traders within steps of Wayshrine (mournhold does this well for trader competition vs Rawl).

    2. Crafting areas all in one place (including outfitting) like Rawl'ka does (only vivec comes close to this - just keep your food already made). - Looks like they do have this set up.

    3. Bank just as close as everything else (vivec does beat this with no loading screen)

    4. Writ turn in area super close - Rawl'ka's is right behind the building across from the shrine.

    5. Affordable yet size-able home located very close to use as home base. -- something almost every other location is missing in the game really.

This isn't even considering that the top trade guilds will stay in Rawl'ka b/c of all those reasons and b/c (even though most players will buy the chapter) it's not part of the base game and everyone won't have access. Which will also continue to drive key traffic to those cities.

If ZoS actually has a goal in mind to make something more of a "hub" then it should have all of the above features or it won't beat the towns that already do have those or most of those.

a centralized crafting hub and everything is close together and its confirmed that the writ turn in is going to be right outside! crafters rejoice. heres to hoping the traders and the wayshrine will be right outside.

Heres some suggestions on how to Improve so that the crafting hub is more convenient and doesn't die at launch:

Id like to see these changes to wayshrines, and banker locations as vivec city has it beat in convenient proximity
    pjpewad4epef.png

Compared to vivec city, it still needs some work to make it better

    ga186aw6a1zr.png

Move the wayshrine to where the crafting writ boards currently are, the wayshrine proximity is important in if a crafting hub is convenient or not
    6t6onftiv130.png

move the crafting writs to the entrance so that the wayshrine can take their place
    gbbxehd9dou8.png

Add more guild traders to the entrance, so that this hub can also be a popular trading destination
    lf8jk4cv7sox.png

Also add a stable master near the crafting hub, even cooler if you make it a gryphon rider stable master
    i1dz1pm8mjm4.png

lastly... please add a banker near the trade hub as the current location is too far

Unsure on the point of the thread. The subject line says it will be THE main hub, yet you point out all the reasons why Vivec is better!!

I'll be remaining Vivec mainly as they have the battlegrounds quest hand in as well.

I will probably still do my writs in Vivec.

Banker is surrounded by crafting stations and he's not inside a building so I don't have to deal with loading screens. Everything is also close to a wayshrine. The only thing I miss there is outfit station.

There is a good spot in the vanilla where you have all crafting stations close together, same as the bank. Not going to tell where that it because I don't want people to gather there start dueling making my game run in slides has happened before with other crafting hubs. If there will be a patch that stop people from dueling in cities I will reveal more.

When they made it do you could hand in writs anywhere, I couldn't wait to find somewhere new instead of laglorn to hand them in.

All Thai time later - I still do them on craglorn. It's just habbit. I had the same route when I did writs, same route to decon/sell after dungeons and knew resource node spawnsso checked them...

So in short, people won't just jump to new place to do that. Some people will stick with what they always do. In fact, I stay away from new cities for as long as possible. The lag is so noticeable when somewhere new is released.

Hmm, I can barely wait to see the new crafting hub. I am currently based in Vivec City, but find that the chef/brewer and outfit station is so far away (the further canton from the crafting area). I hope the new place will be better with everything as nicely clustered.

I thought so. I personally don't use guild stores, unless I want to buy something and that, I usually do in different guilds than my own trade guild, because the offers are better elsewhere.

Vivec City already did this. All traders, crafting stations, and a super convenient outdoor bank are right next to the wayshrine. It's a top-5 trader spot, but hasn't come close to Rawl'kha and Mournhold because it's a DLC zone with less traffic.

Vivec is still awfully busy at times - that it is a chapter content is not really making a huge difference - people will buy them sooner or later anyway.
