Best sets for magsorc

I’m a pet Sorc running skills similar to alcasts build, but I’m unsure of what monster set I should use In Summerset. Right now I have:
5pc mechanical acuity
5pc necropotence
1pc molag kena (just for damage, but what 2pc bonus should I use for Summerset?

Probably a little soon to know, but I think the two most obvious contenders will be Zaan where you can fight in melee range, and Ilambris where you cant.

5x acuity, 4 moondancer/3 willpower + asylum staff with Ilambris is what is probably the best atm. Next patch depends on all kinds of aspects, gonna need to be tested. But for monster set best for range is still Ilambris for sorc.

Why is that? Seems like something like Zaan and infernal guardian do much more damage

1. it procs of shield which doesnt do any damage, you dont use shield every 6 seconds in pve
2. it hits furtherest enemy, so basically it becomes useless in every non single target fight. Which is most of trial bosses.

For monster set you want something that procs when you deal damage not when you dont deal damage.

Best monster set for sorc is Infernal Guardian. This set is a beast and procs non-stop. If you are interested in trials and vMA this is the set for you. If you just do solo content with your pets Ilambris is a good choice.

I got 4 Monster set load outs that I use. I don't have a Zaan head yet.

Skoria, Illambris, Maw of the Inferno, and Inferno Guardian.

Maw i my go to head piece. I pull 30K more consistently with my Daedroth than I do with Illambris procs a I don't use Force pulse on my build other than needing to interrupt for certain boss encounters. It its in my flex spot.

It does as long as the pet doesn't come from a proc set.

Yes. A sorc with their shields down is a dead sorc.

Mechanical acuity gives you 100% crit proc chance on everything that can crit, including pet.

Yes. A sorc with their shields down is a dead sorc.

In pvp, yes, in pve no, just like any other dps setup. If you apply your shield all the time you lose dps. You have healer whos job is to heal you. You use shield only in certain situations and for sure dont spam it.

You need to proc the shield for it to proc. It also aims at the target, but if the target moves, it will miss the enemy. If the target is stationary, it will hit, but it also will only hit the target furthest away.

I use Empowered Ward since it is 10 seconds and easier to maintain. When you are in vMA and trials you need to keep your shields up 100%. Just think of it as part of your rotation. Yes, it hits furthest enemy as some people point out, but if your only enemy is a single target in front of you then it hits them.
