Boat to mainland from Vvardenfell o.O

Some odd things there.. i understand, that the boat can go to Wayrest and maybe even to Mournhold though the water connection there, is very doubtful at best. But Elden root? Why not Haven for example? a good harbor town or Skywatch or Vulkhil guard? All three would be logical boat destinations unlike Elden root.

Mournhold would be better changed to Davons watch or Ebonheart for example. Windhelm would not be bad destination either and all are better sail roiutes than Mournhold, even closer to Vvardengfell for such a small skill we are assumably traveling.

Would also love some more immersive travel methods over Wayshrines in mainland, like caravans for example. I love using Silt striders on Vvardenfell :) Might be nice, to have caravans from the harbor towns to bigger inland settlements and cities.

Just few thoughts.

Since you end up standing next to Selandilwen who, in turn, is standing right next to a cart in Elden Root; I've always assumed we took a boat as far as possible then she plopped us on a cart, in a caravan, and took us over land the rest of the way.

This is, how i immerse the thing for myself too :)

Though i would still be grateful for more logical destinations and some caravans on the mainland too... And in matter of fact, as i just traveled from Daggerfall to Vulkhil guard, it seems the ship also changed shape on the way :D These kinds of litle things :)

One idea from LOTRO would be nice too, they had this fast travel service with actual horses riding from place to place. Something similar would be nice for few of us immerse fools too :D

To be fully immersed with Vvardenfell all wayshrines should be removed from the Island.
Silt Striders should do the job instead.

Well, not everyone likes to immerse with anything so the wayshrines do the job for them, and i do remember that there were "Wayshrines" on the TES3 Morrowind too, though they had nothing to do with fast travel or teleportation.

But for people like me, i just consider them as "Magical gateways or shrines to pray if one is such a person, when on travels. Myself, i just dont use Wayshrtines, i use boats and Silt striders. And outside of that, i walk, slowly and normally ust walk :) Its fun since you get to really relax abd you see even the smallest details of the workld, when you dont hurry from point a to point b like those milk drinkers, who even run from enemies in delves ;D
