Mag DK now more viable due to 2h = 2 pieces?

I know the sustain will still be terrible but considering you could run Grothdarr, BSW and Silks of the Sun that's like 1000 spell damage for flame abilities, plus magicka and health and spell crit.

Could this be the change Mag DK needed?
With all the additional damage you could switch mundus to Atronach or give up 1 or 2 Spell Damage enchants on the Jewellery for sustain.

    Or you could run Elf Bane.

    Your flame dots last longer, so more time in a rotation for a heavy attack, and you get two more ticks on Zaan for even more damage.

    Plus with access to arcane jewellery and 2 piece staves, you remove the need to run heavy.

    Not only will getting 2 for 1 be great, but think of all that juicy stam recovery for getting a kill with a 2h melee weapon...

    Absolutely. I think all of these set ups will work. I should get to grinding for a BSW inferno staff so I can trigger and switch which I can't atm.

    Gilliam said he did 74K with 100% raid buff uptime (which you wont have).

    You do get additional 200 mag/regen from the new passive from keeping the target burning. Which should really help the sustain.

    Atm I use BSW Julianos but I can only use one pc of monster helmet with the change I can use a monster helm and pay someone to craft me Julianos jewellery.

    I´m thinking or running:

    5 BSW on the body
    5 Moondancer: 3 jewellery+Inferno frontbar
    vMA inferno backbar
    2 Zaan

    With the addition of moondancer it solves both sustain and DPS issues as a magicka DK. Looking forward to test this out.

    @Ankael07 I think he means you can run something like 5 mechanical acuity on the body, back bar vMA staff, then 3 BSW jewels+front bar inferno and still get the 5pc bonus on the front AND have room for a monster set.

    This isnt a sure thing yet, the passive may still have the old effect and simply add the new recovery bonus.

    Moondancer 5-piece sounds like a bad choice to me. You have 50% uptime on 448 spell damage buff, which is on avg 224 spell damage. Both Julianos and Silks of the Sun will outperform it as a 5-piece set.

    5 BSW: 3 jewellery+Inferno frontbar
    vMA inferno backbar

    Heavy attack PvE build might make a comeback also due to the changes to max stat affecting light and hvy attacks...

    i seem to be missing a bunch of stuff in the patch notes.

    or maybe i am too lazy to read it all.

    so does that mean dual wield heavy attack would be based off magika instead of stamina on a magdk?

    that's what I was thinking I might try 2h/resto 5bsw 5 shackle I know wings got a buff but with it lacking immunity it may not be wroth it.

    That is what I am thinking of doing. At the moment i have dual MechAcuity destro staffs, one nirnhoned flame and one lightning. I have grothdar helm and shoulders. I only need bsw necklace to have a 4pc and if i get the staff ill change it out. Currently at cp230. I am kind of new to all this so any advice on what to change would be helpful from anyone. I chose MechAcuity because all i ever see is julianos so i waanted to see how this worked for me personally. It wasn't unitl the last couple days with the summerset info coming out that I've been seeing people talking about MechAcuity on MagDKs a good bit.
