Let's talk about Warden (Summerset edition)

After acknowledging numerous times that magicka warden DPS was underperforming, ZOS now had the opportunity to fix the class. So what do they do? Nothing.

The class has had both of its "OP" PvP abilities nerfed now (Cliff Rracer is dodgeable and Shalks no longer stun), making warden one of the weaker PvP classes. Great, now they can buff PvE since the excuse was always that PvE buffs would make them too strong in PvP. Nope. Nothing, just a mediocre solo buff (where wardens already excelled). Now warden just sucks in PvE AND PvP.

Seriously ZOS, why do you hate the warden? Honest question.

    They had the "opportunity" for over a year. It's not going to happen. They don't think warden DPS is a problem, apparently.

    I have one created with a great look and great name and just waiting for the devs to announce the buffs to Magden so I can start leveling one. Still waiting :neutral:

    I might still bust him out tomorrow with the XP event but I have no hype at all.

    Even to get their marginal DPS, warden is forced to use the dumb bear ultimate. That's a non-starter for me cause I hate pets. I'd like to see them nerf the bear and buff other damage skills.

    Even if you like pets, it's just not a good ultimate. A single target ultimate sucks on a magicka character. It also dies instantly in most boss fights.

    Not to mention it isn't even strong. With the bear equipped, magden is still like 7k+ DPS behind NB/sorc (who get to use destro ultiamte).

    we are to strong... we don't need any stun skills in PvP. LoL any more class without stun skills?! no way only "OP" class. Realy starting hate this game (((

    ZOS forgot to add the fine print to the Warden class: "Stamina, or gtfo".

    Deep Fissure in its current state is pretty much the foundation of a MagDen's offense in PvP and that now gets taken away from them with a debuff that can easily be applied by other skills (and it doesn't help much in PvE either).

    Without the stun, MagDen's will have a delayed offense that can easily be avoided while also being unable to put pressure on any incoming attacker, especially if they are very mobile

    Guess it's time to give up and respec to Stamina. Might even make it a bit easier to get into trial groups...

    As a warden tank I'm on the fence here. They removed my access to an aoe major breach and fracture, which is a big deal imo, but they also made arctic wind a good tank self heal which kinda counters things.

    I'm very disappointed to see no changes to swarm or bird of prey though.

    I don't know about that. i seem to remember them sneaking some in just prior to Morrowind launch last year. And even one or two on launch day. There's still time.

    Yep. Such an annoying "class defining skill."

    For something that requires a double slot and is a single target ability only, it needs to hit much harder to be useful. Instead, it doesn't even bring wardens close to the DPS of other classes.

    Sometimes I wonder if they even play test the classes.

    So my dream of my MagWarden becoming finally viable in PvP is gone. I mean... nerf Warden? Really?

    Can we get an official statement from ZOS that Warden was designed to be a stamina class only? Can we please stop with the lies of a nature druid type wizard? It's a DK with bugs and flowers. Nothing else.

    As bad as DK is, warden is even worse. That's how pathetic this class is.

    I'm totally excited about going to PvP on a class with no CC, damage abilities that have no secondary functions, no execute, and easily avoidable damage.

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    Yeah that's what I am thinking as well. I raided a long time with my german raid guild with the warden (Magicka) until the Patch comes out when Stamina was buffed well (because of deadly cloak). Wardens DPS was not very good at all since Morrowind, but yeah I got the chance for some raids to come with him.

    Then as Stamina was highest DPS I had to switch Warden for StamDK or StamSorc, because they do more DPS.

    And now with Asylum Sanctorium... forget the warden. Nobody wants pets in your raid. They get the red circles and spread them to other people, so every good raidlead will tell you to put the pet away. And Magicka warden without pet? It's the highest number, even higher than light-attacks.

    So you'll lose a lot of DPS as a Magicka Warden when playing without your pet.

    And hey, not everybode of us has really PERFECT rotation with light-attack-weaving-animation-cancelling-thing, so when a good player does 50k WITH pet... imagine what an average or bad player would do. yeah, like 10-30k range.

    I can't say how much I really want a buff for the Warden... For the raiding perspective it's not playable atm. And I am raiding the high-end-content.

    Would be just nice to fix the content, that pet's don't get negative buffs and spread them into your group, so that we have to put our pets away.

    @ZOS_Wrobel , fam, can you please explain the logic behind the warden nerfs and lack of buffs? What are you guys playtesting at ZOS that even remotely indicates that this class is viable as a DPS?

    Depends on... I am pretty sure a MagWarden can do more DPS than a MagDK, but not really sure about that. But Warden can stay range, while the MagDK has to be in Melee-Range.

    And MagDK get a little buff with summerset (Every time you apply burning/poison, you gain 500 magicka or stamina, this has a 5 seconds cooldown.).... I can't see a MagWarden DPS buff.

    As tank DK better, much more better...... and he have stun. DK melee tank, warden range. To buff to DK level we need faster attack, warden is to slow.

    I didn't see the change for subterranean assault...is it's just major fracture after patch?
