Undaunted Skills for StamDK

I just unlocked the undaunted skill line and a few skills look interesting and could possibly fit into my build. Currently have a DPS detup using mostly poison based skills. The two that interest me would really be more utility than dps so i was wondering if anyone can elaborate on how they function in game
1. trapping webs - deduff of movement speed and a poison AOE after 5 seconds - does the explosion do decent damage (gets a buff from ardent flame + poison aoe passive?)? and do most mobs move out of the area before it goes off?
2. bone shield - damage shield up to 30% of max health and a morph that does damage to melee attackers - DK's obsidian shield feels pathetically underwhelming. i get like a 3500 damage shield . it is completely useless. Is this a better option for a stamina user with nothing into health or magicka?

I solo most things right now as i have yet to hit CP levels so i do have a need for utility skills.

    Trapping webs can do decent damage but only if an ally synergizes it. They recently changed the synergy range so that only ranged allies can synergize it which makes no sense. Bone shield isn't better than igneous shield. It's expensive and the shield is very small. On a stamDK, your survival comes from vigor (alliance skill unlocked from PvP), blade cloak (dual wield skill), hardened armor, igneous shield, and dragon fire scale. Vigor then igneous shield for the major mending and you'll heal to full.

    thank you for that. there are a few skills in assualt i would like as well but i have yet to PVP and honestly it's not something i'm that interested in but i may have to bite the bullet. would love to have vigor and caltrops

    @SinisterG do some BGs. It takes about 6-7 of them to unlock vigor.

    and that delay on trapping webs :( Would much rather see it as an immediate affect like caltrops... and a MAG version morph (so MAG would have a version of caltrops, so to speak).

    Bone shield is really good in PvE, as a support skill for your allies. The synergy gives all allies a shield worth 100% of their health, so if healer uses and tank gets synergy...
