Did I read that right?

Looking at the packages on offer in PSN store, £19.99 upgrade price for pre-order, you get the senche and morrowind... wait, morrowind for free??

Damn, that seems a bit lack luster for anyone who already purchased Morrowind

    Thanks... on PSN there is no summerset only upgrade... you have to take the one that gives morrowind too

    Imagine how buyers of those games feel? Hint: nobody cares!

    It's a business. They obviously want more customers. What better way of getting new people in the game than to offer all previous chapters for the price of the newest chapter.

    In a few years from now there will be many more chapters and if they stuck to selling each one individually starting the game with all content would be ridiculously expensive.

    If you were shopping for a new game to play would you rather pay $79.00 or $180.00? Yes, that's rhetorical.

    Previous chapter should be included. Well done Zeni. Too bad only for a limited time with pre-order.

    Having any version of the base game should NOW include the first four DLCs. Let's hope Zeni sees this as wise too rather than trying to continue to sell Imperial City, Orsinium, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild. Make it so -- open it up to everyone already.

    I purchased all DLCs and I subscribe -- just thinking of others.

    I guess you don't have give aways on PS4?

    There is (almost) every week some giveaway on PC so it's comletely normal and standard practice in industry. Many times when devs create new game so they try to hook up potential buyers with previous game for free. Also people buy games in EA development even game is going to be F2P after full release and nobody complains.

    its a digital prepurchase promo, period. there are no cheaper versions without morrowind, because morrowind is a temporary bonus.

    the difference between cheaper regular and CE versions of summerset are between upgrade only and summerset+basegame

    all I'm saying is that your purchase ALSO included morrowind. you just didn't get an extra copy, becasue its a bonus promo, NOT a bundle is all I'm saying. I'm correcting you because for people who do NOT have morrowind? its important information. that and there are no cheaper digital editions without morrowind. there are 4 editions and they all include morrowind as a BONUS, unless you already have it, in which case its an equivalent of level up rewards where you don't get a costume or a pet if you already bought it before. but for people who didn't? its still there

    Summerset is an expansion, which they call chapters. DLC's are included with the ESO+ subscription, chapters(expansions) you have to purchase.

    All right, we misunderstand each other.

    As mentioned F1 2015 has free give away on Humble Bundle (Steam keys are free to generate for devs) and F1 2017 has free weekend (like ESO, too) on Steam, so it's double marketing tactics.

    This is standard industry practice on PC.

    P. S.
    Me and many others bought games which were later bundled for 1 $ but it's ok :). Now I'm getting Summerset and I'll get Morrowind, too which I already planned to buy as is discounted again so everybody happy (me and publisher).

    It's only free until Summerset is released. From the ESO web page:

    Once the Summerset pre-purchase window has closed, you'll need to purchase the Morrowind Chapter separately if you wish to explore the home of the Dark Elves. Note that if you already own ESO: Morrowind, you will not receive an additional copy.

    You're late in the fact that folks were talking about this .2 seconds after it was announced. Those pots are likely buried by the reactions to content announced .3 seconds later. Try flipping to page 3 or 4 to see threads made yesterday afternoon-ish.
