More guild trader spots

I think we need more. When you pay 10k a week and still they lose the trader that's stupid. Then they ask for donations to get a trader..at a certain point it's no longer worth it you can't make any profit.

I understand the sitiation..it's just..if it's that hard to keep a trader something is wrong.

So basically..need more spots

Definitely. We also need more than 30 trading slots. I am an active trader and 30 slots is no where near enough.

Guilds are not just for trading - you might need say 3 trading guilds, a pve raiding guild, and a PvP guild for each of the 3 alliances. I say we need a minimum of 7 guilds.

You could have 10x the current number of spots and your guild can still lose the bid. That's the nature of blind bidding. If a location is being targeted aggressively a GM may choose to go for another location and/or raise the bid significantly the next week. Nearly every guild in the game will lose a spot occasionally. It sucks, but most times they are back next week. If you're not interested in paying 10k a week, there are still guilds out there that keep traders fairly consistently and charge nothing to members other than optional donations (at least on PC)

The problem is that they are locked behind the expansion. The increase needs to be done on the base game areas. Not certain when or if they had ever made this increase yet the game has pushed ahead with increased players. One Tamriel also changed the dynamics as a guild could get a Trader in any land instead of only in their factions lands and dlc's.

The limited guild traders available really elevates the guild trader fee significantly, and with the increased eso population the demand of getting in the main guild creates serious monopoly in the market.
So ZOS, you should at least double the amount of guild traders, or allow each traders to have 2 guilds selling.

There are plenty of traders in out of the way places that guilds usually manage to keep week in week out. The turnover isn't as good as in the main towns but stock still sells. As someone who also buys, I would not like to have to spend more time checking more traders for the things I want (console here, no add ons).

Maybe they need to have a ballot system: they set fixed prices for the various locations, place all guilds who bid that amount into a pool and draw their names at random until all traders are allocated for that area. I think ZOS like the gold sink of the current system, so probably wouldn't change it.

I know some people think a fee system is gold down the drain but simply charging guild members a flat fee is the easiest way for most guilds to function at the moment. I know there are other ways guilds can make money but they take a lot of time to manage, plan and organize, often preventing GMs and officers from actually playing the game.

I'm torn about an increase in slots though.
Unless your primary goal is to sell as much as you can, and you have an enormous supply of stock, wouldn't 60 slots clear you out pretty quick if the stock was moving (especially in a main town location)?
And if you had a slow trader spot, you could go a couple of weeks without having to restock. Prices fluctuate, suddenly your stuff is under or over priced and one day you are offering everyone a bargain or charging way too much.

I have traded in as many as 4 guilds at a time and the time spent restocking can get very tedious. Now I just go on and list stuff when I feel like it.

Next expansion should involve more guild traders at the most popular spots. Otherwise the whole trading system just gets more diluted.

An idea I had for this:

Let each trader host 2 guilds. The highest two bidders get the trader, and their store results are combined in the guild trader search.

Would effectively double the number of trader slots available, and would also introduce an interesting new trader paradigm where guilds could make alliances to hold the same trader together.

eso do need to address this issue , do think all guilds that have the required amount of active players be given a choice of trader locations . if you look some places stonefalls only has 1 guild trader , do think they can put say 6 more outside, and a few more inside .

come on eso wake up just make more locations available so all guilds can have a trader .

There are already plenty of trader spots. Many of the back water ones are held by guilds with don't have more than three pages of items listed. People just only want more in the main cities.

More will be added with the next Chapter and any new DLC any way.

Actually, guilds could always get traders in any faction. But yes, the only time they added traders to the regular zones was when they added Outlaw Refuges. There are plenty of empty carts around existing traders that could accomodate a couple of extras.

Those traders are not cheap either though. I used to be able to get an out of town trader for 30k. Not for a long time though.

The main popular spaces tend to be monopolized by the bigger trading guilds, which is as it should be if they are having to spend millions each week to secure a spot. Those traders have to sell a lot to make back some of the costs and they will ask for donations from their members to enable them to secure a good spot.

As a member of a trading guild you have to decide if the weekly donation can be recouped by sales. If not, leave that guild and find another one that has lower fees but don't expect them to be able to afford a prime spot each week.

What are you doing to encourage growth and income from your guild to fund the traders?

If your guild has a lot of members who are dedicated to getting posts and making sure they're selling desired items at good priced (slash 10% off the "normal" price) then you should have a good flow of gold. Then add in some lotteries or something to encourage donations and you should be able to make the needed gold to get a trader outside a main city.

There is new spots with every DLC (with zones).
The problem is there is no reason to go to these places. There just needs to be more reason to travel to more out of the way locations.

Like why would anyone go to Balmora other than to do the quests? there is nothing there.

As a console player, there are enough traders. I don't make it to all of them as-is. What they need is a global search function. Either at the bank, or an exterior Web site/app like TTC. It could even cost crowns or come bundled with ESO+.

Im down for increasing slots to 50 and adding another 50 traders to the game. That would be an effective increase. 3-5 traders every 6-12 months isnt cutting it when the number of trading guilds are increasing by triple that or more.

Exactly this. Without a 'global' search function or even basic text search functionality when you are at a trader, adding more traders will just make finding items harder and more of a chore for console players.

If I want something like a Hlaalu motif, unless I put minimum price in the search panel (and potentially miss out on the bargain of a lifetime), I could potentially scroll through 20+ pages of purple motifs AT EVERY TRADER I VISIT. Surely a text panel where I can enter 'Hla' or 'Hlaalu' to only list matching motifs is not that hard to implement.

I love the trader system in this game overall....SO much better than a global AH, which is way too easy to manipulate and use for gold selling/bot feeding. It also provides a much needed gold sink (MUCH, MUCH needed).

But the lack of available traders isnt fun, nor is the blind bid system thats only pushed winning bids in MANY areas to as high as 10% of the possible sales for the area (and guilds only get 3.5% of total sales).

I think I'd prefer a trading zone, with crafting stations, non combat quests, a PvP arena and a dueling ban anywhere thats not in that arena. Maybe flat weekly rates for traders, based on how sweet the "location" is in the zone (nearer zone in and/or bank would be higher demand spots, of course). Perhaps also add in an additional fee that allows the guild leader to mirror the guild trader active in their primary home (usually what is used as the guild hall for most guilds). Perhaps make it so that the stall for the trader requires purchase from the voucher vendor for a bunch of vouchers. Could also perhaps add in a second type of trader for individual players at HUGE gold cost weekly that allow additional sales slots.

Just some ideas.
