Tip : the best way to avoid buying crown crates!

The best turnoff for me was when I bought some crates from my sub in addition to the free ones, hoped for 1 out of 4 available apex mounts and got both the ones I never wanted and never will use ever (camel and guar) + 2x undead skin which I didn't care for either.

Honestly if you could directly trade items of the same value it'd be better but I still hate the entire concept.

I so very much support the idea of trading. No money, just a trade. I have mounts, skins, emotes etc. that I will never use (a couple are the über types) and I would be so happy that someone who does what and would use them could have them.

Please consider this, ZoS.

Spent my subscriptions worth of crowns on crown crates the last few months and extracted pretty much everything. Can’t extract the first emotes and costume drops, but I see those as a bonus anyway!

Bought the scale caller horse mount last night with the 400 gems I’ve managed to save.

One of the best looking mounts I’ve seen in game imo so I’m pretty happy with that. Don’t really like the look of the Summerset ones coming so...

Was also pretty lucky with the fire crates rng and looted a fire guar as well as the fire skin for my character.

Only money I’ve spent on crowns was £20 during the reduced price to buy my merchant assistant

Might save up the next few months sub crowns for the banker though.

People with no self-control blaming the "evil of gambling" after spending their money on virtual lootboxes.

Do they go out of their way to tempt you? Yes, but no one held a gun to your head and made you buy them.

Somehow I have a feeling these are the same people who end up in crippling debt and can't for the life of them figure out how things got this bad.

ZOS are a for-profit company that provide no game-changing incentives to buy from the crown store, it’s pretty much all cosmetics or convenience.

The ONLY thing I think would be p2w would be the research scrolls, but those are so expensive only a minority of players with the expendable cash will buy them, and they aren’t even necessary. Want a specific set of gear and can’t make it yourself? Ask people from your guild...

Every MMO has a store to buy from, and ESO’s isn’t even close to being the worst. In fact, I think they’ve got quite a good system in place.

Soon they will also be giving us free log-in rewards ( on top of all the other free stuff they give us; seems people ) not sure if these could be similar to what drops from crown crates but I’m sure at least SOME of them will be decent.
