And this is exactly why they made this non-buyable. Their marketing scheme is working perfectly. You only have yourselves to blame.

The trick is to not want or expect anything, then you'll get it. I got the Frost Draugr Senche and Cold Flame Atro Wolf last seasons with very few crates bought, and didn't really want either but hey...no complaints. This time I really wanted the Shadow Rider Senche and thought I was lucky enough, but I got no Apex mounts at all lol. Just bought the regular Frostbane Senche with gems and that'll be it for me.

Remember that guy who spent thousands trying to get the Plague Husk Horse, and that was the only thing he didn't get? Yeah, the RNG god knows what you want deep down inside. You can't hide it.

I have one apex mount for almost every season. But not one I may have wanted. For the most part I don't care for the apex mounts. So I'm never trying to get one. I did get the plague horse, so I figure I'll not get any other radiant level mounts for at least a year, or longer. I'm just happy if I can get the things from the lower levels that I might want.

Honestly, if I’m reading of people who have spent in the hundreds and still didn’t get their drop... I’m glad that I didn’t spend. Of course it’s perfectly fine to spend if you got the money to spare. Still ... these odds. Fascinating.

Look, ESO is a business...they need to make money to survive just like the rest of us.

Point is, rare mounts in crates are hot items, I am just hoping in a few months or some time this year, They add it to the Crown store.

The first statement is true.

The second statement is not.

Some of the blame is upon Zenimax for putting so much focus on cosmetics that you buy. I'd like to see them add some more unique cosmetics like mounts as a result of non-payment, hopefully we will see more of that.

If its the theme of the mount you like wait for the next crown crate pack, its likely to be daedric themed.

Seems you could make a decent amount of money off of a direct sale. For example, I, and I'm sure plenty more, won't buy 1 crate trying to get that mount. But I'd spend crowns on the mount if in crown store.

I would actually be in favor of temporary gem sales, one weekend each month, where the radiant apex would be for sale at a rather high gem price, for example 1200 gems. (My reasoning behind this price tag is that if I understood well, the Resplendant Sweetroll can be exchanged for 400 gems, thus the radiant apex could be valued 3 times this amount. Which is, of course, exorbitantly high.) This would still be predatory as heck, but it would at least allow ZOS to respect their initial promise that no item would be strictly RNG-locked, which they renounced to. (May Malacath scathe them for breaking their oath. )

RNG is RNG yeah. I was (one of) the plague husk guys. Now I spend X amount per season and what I get I get. For $100 I’ve gotten a radiant apex each season and a bunch of motifs and other collectibles. I won’t chase the whale again, but you can’t tell a gambler that and expect them to listen to you. It’s a lesson we have to learn for ourselves.

I am really not sure why people buy ANY crown crates. Are the 20 mounts and 100 pets you already have not enough? Its baffling, pets following you in-game is pretty lame(The only place I use my pets is housing) and one mount is much like another. I can see the appeal of costumes...after all, you are looking at your toon the entire time you are playing...but as for the rest of the cosmetics...why would you spend real money on them when that money could instead buy you DLC or actual useful things like character slots?

That's how this scheme works, and that's why they made it this way.
If you want thopse super-duper-ultra-rare apex mounts, you gotta dump a ton of crowns into crates. No other way.

Sane people on the other hand just do without and keep to the "merely rare" stuff that's purchasable with gems. But eh, I know if there was an apex mount I really wanted, I might let go of sanity myself... lucky for me, so far there has been none I want badly enough.

Look on the bright side though, you now have enough gems to get loads of stuff from future crown crates without all the gambling!

The artwork for the Shadow Rider Senche looks cool, but I haven't seen one in-game yet. Even if it's awesome I don't think it's worth playing ZOS' cash-grab.

I got the Adamant Dwarven Horse from some free crates and I resent that I can't use it without people asking me how they could get it themselves. These rare, crate-only mounts are BS this way. Most people aren't going to get as lucky as me, so they'd have to buy a lot of crates and probably still not get one of the rare mounts, and anyone who has one is basically advertising for the crown crates whenever they use it.

I could finger wag and shame people for wanting these rare mounts, but I don't think it's bad for people to want options to enjoy the game as they like. It's ZOS' fault for making it such am exploitive cash-grab to get some of these things and for making people impulsively throw away money trying to get them. This is exactly what they want.

I said it more as a joke, didn't mean it like that, sorry if it came across like that though.
I think the radiants are scummy, but have no issue with what people do with their own money but everyone needs self control. Eventually you need to tell yourself enough is enough or you'll end up like that Plague Horse guy.
