Dueling build-stamsorc

Just interested in some tips on how a dueling (1v1) build would look for a Stamsorc. I'm finding that builds intended for Cyrodiil pvp aren't as effective in 1v1s, especially when there's not too much space to run around.

This is my Stamina Sorcerer "Death Wish" build.

    Info:
    Health Debuffs (43%)
    4k Health Recovery
5000 Crit Resist to negate almost every builds crit damage.

    Sets:
    2 x Troll King
5 x Impregnable (Jewelry All Weapon Damage Glyphs)
5 x Duroks Bane (5th piece on frontbar)

    5-1-1 (Full Undaunted)

Main bar: 1h Dagger Duroks Bane (Nirnhoned) / Impregnable Shield (Divines)

Back Bar: 2h Impregnable Battle Axe (Defending with Oblivion Enchant)

Poisons: Double Dot Poisons (Flashly Larva, Nightshade, Nirnroot)

    Mundus Stone: Warrior

    Food: Orzorgas Smoked Bear Haunch

Potions: Lingering Health + Health and Lingering Health + Speed pots

Champions Points: Watch Video from 02:33

    Playstyle:

This build is a small scale/1v1 build and doesnt excel at 1vX's.

Keep the lingering pots up under fights and reapply defensive rune after the enemy is stunned to CC them every 6 second (This awesome ability goes through block).
Have poisons up every 10 secs to keep pressuring your enemy
This build also needs some heavy attack weaving to keep sustain, but gonna come naturally after awhile.

I'd go with DW plus S+B, bow isn't really all that useful in 1v1, and S+B gives you access to reverb, AKA instant CC with major defile tagged on, as well as Heroic Slash to slow your opponent down, increasing your speed advantage, as well as providing Minor Maim, which we'd otherwise lack.

DW is better than 2H in duels as the consistent Bleeds are going to give you a lot of 1v1 pressure, and the snare from Flying Dagger is pretty equivalent to a gap closer, especially when you have hurricane. Implosion also covers the lack of a true execute.

In general though, I find that Stam Sorc is a highly pressure reliant class. You have very few ways to reset a 1v1, given your lack of a strong burst heal, or way to break combat, as your one class tool that can actually do this leaves you wide open to a counter attack. If you can keep your opponent on the back foot by sitting on their face with Hurricane up, smacking them with Reverbs and Heroic Slashes, with bleeds constantly ticking, you will melt them, but beyond that you kinda lack clear ways to win.

Magplars and Nightblades are the only real ones that give me trouble in a duel, given they have strong tools to reset a fight, or negate my agression, but if you can get on top of them and gain the pressure advantage, you have a decent shot at winning.

The most effective stamsorc I've seen lately was using Durok's with high befoul cp, d/w axes main bar with master axes.
2h axe backbar. Pump up thermaturge and your DoT's/Hurricane/Druoks with stop a stam character cold in their tracks, or at the very least make your stamsorc viable against a good player.

It's a counter to StamBlade. Duroks and hurricane will end them if you outplay them and stop initial burst.

    My Duel build :

DW bar : Bloodcraze / Rearming trap / Hurricane / Critical Surge / Bound armor // Berserker Werewolf
S&B bar : Pierce armor / Reverb / Heroic slash / Dark deal / Bound armor // Dawnbreaker

    5H/1M/1L
Troll King / Shacklebreaker / Automaton

Has some easier/harder matchup but this is a very strong setup with few weaknesses and the ability to win against any build if you adapt to your opponent's build and playstyle.

Looks interesting, I'll give it a go. What are your combos/rotations usually like?

Well the basics are easy :
    - Keep every buff and debuff up at all time
    - Use Dawnbreaker to burst cloak and dodge spammers.
    - Use Werewolf to kill anything else if needed (that's a whole other class to learn though)

If we start going into details :

    - S&B : use [light attack - skill - bash], [heavy attack - skill - bash] or [heavy attack - skill] depending on the need for burst or sustain

    - Trap : will pressure the stamina of your opponents, skilled players will use some brain time to avoid it, you step on it when a stamblade is going to ambush-incap you, if the enemy needs to go around the trap it gives you time to dark deal, etc...

    - Outside of a ranged magblade spaming root, you will generally out-sustain your opponent's stamina/magicka, but you are vulnerable to burst against high damage builds.

    - To beat these high burst builds, you need to maintain as much pressure as possible to prevent them from going all out, while never leaving yourself open. It's the hardest part and will come with mastering the rotation, not wasting resources, reading your opponent and making good usage of block.

    - Because your burst combo is sub-par, you will often need werewolf to crack tankiest targets, just plan your transformation carefully and none will survive 10 sec against a werewolf with pierce armor, bloodcraze and hurricane running.

I adjusted this build over several months and i'm still testing modifications here and there but i don't think i'll change the core of it unless the meta shifts significantly.
