So Zaan doesn't pull the wearer out of stealth when proc'ed?

So Zaan is very easy to counter and I don't think it needs nerfing BUT last night there was a nightblade in stealth just light attacking people and when Zaan proc'ed, they weren't pulled from stealth. I couldn't see the person or anything. Just a beam you could see like two people hidden with guard on. Now I find this a fault. Any damage any player does in stealth SHOULD be pulled out of stealth so during the whole duration Zaan is on someone, the wearer should not be able to cloak or go in stealth and should break the beam if they do. As a mageblade, every time my crippling grasp ticks on a person, I am pulled from stealth. Makes sense. So when Zaan proc's, the person should be pulled from stealth. I have the video saved on my PS4 but I didn't upload it or anything. This was not the only encounter I had with this player light attacking from stealth but I learned that when someone is light attacking, I jump off my mount and lo and behold, the little coward wouldn't come after me, a level 31, when Zaan didn't proc. Unless I am missing something but I couldn't see this person at all during the whole duration it proc'ed on me.

Wouldn't the light attacks pull the user out of stealth? Maybe you were experiencing extreme lag/latency at the time? Or are you saying they were using the LA to proc Zaan and then were able to stealth while Zaan was firing? Just trying to understand.

@Apache_Kid I have no idea 100%. As I was running from one keep to the next, I had light attacks hit me and knocked me off my mount, since it has 0 stamina. But the beam was connected to me to a section in front of me. I tried to heavy attack where the beam ended but to no avail. I died to Zaan. It wasn't very laggy where I was but that's not to say I wasn't.

Ah i see. unsure if I have any more info to add then. Only bug I've seen with Zaan is that using LOS to break it seems inconsistent. I haven't tested using it on my magblade yet so i haven't tried using it in conjunction with cloak.

dots will pull character out of sneak but not from cloak. I can confirm that at least: Posion injection (dot portion), sheer venom, vicecanon and alchemic poison. since zaan is basically a dot :P i asume it will work like that.

Ah. Maybe this is what it is then. I was only in Cyrodiil to get Warhorn for my tank but my main has magelight and I can cloak to break it.

Yeah, Zaan is a "special" dot so has some bugs about it. Such as it won't break cloak, and can not be broken by LOS. Its limits are that of dots, i.e. cloaking/purging the damage. Or the 10m.

It is however blockable so they should acknowledge that it isn't a traditional on target dot. (Whilst maintaining purgability.)

Honestly, whilst not OP is is badly designed.

You can proc Zaan and then go into cloak or even mist form and the beam will continue. Is this what the topic is about?

Not sure if it's intended but I've noticed it on Xbox.

I feel Zaan is broken. Here is what I have noticed:

          1) Nightblades running around in stealth and light attacking with zaan proc remain stealthed
          2) Zaan procs were occasionally not visible - major problem since you can't counter what you can't see
          3) Cannot LOS as far as I experienced

Considering the amount of damage it does in such a short window easily makes it one of the worst proc sets in the game. The short time window, visual latency (perhaps) and gap closer abilities makes it extremely hard to counter its damage. As soon as the set procs, the mag nightblades use fear. And you literally end up dying to this proc immediately after fear+incap.

I have not tested this, but can Zaan be interrupted since it is a channel? Anyone tried that with visible opponents?

Cannot be interrupted. Also can stay procced during mist form.
