Leveling Rewards System Problem

Level 10 awards a Sorrel Horse. If you already have the Sorrel Horse you got nothing. Level 20 offers the choice of three different costumes. If you already have the three that are offered you get nothing. How about if the player already has what is being offered their is some other compensation. With the Crown Crates when you already have an item given by a card you at least get crown gems instead.

Because all this level up stuff is geared towards new players to ESO, not veterans on their umpteenth alt.

At least we get a shot at some items and get what we don't have already.

Agreed. If you already have the Sorrel horse you should get the Plague Husk horse instead.

I have to disagree here. If I am going to take the time to go thru the boring level up of a new character for the umpteenth time as you say then I should get something besides what I already have. Heck the majority of the level up awards are crap anyways with the exception of the crown crates (maybe), experience scrolls and glyphs that can be used to level the crafting end. Besides everything you get is bound to that character. If I could pass some of the items to my other characters then that would be a different story.

"The majority of the level up awards are crap anyways" well that's because they're for newer players, not players who know what they're doing. New players aren't going to know if the reward is "crap" or not, they'll just be happy to get it. An experienced player like you or me would just look at it and say "I have better things".

Yeah actually same, some of the crafting mats are pretty nice considering how often I run out of them making gear for my newer characters lol

or 1k gold (not 10k) or other in game standard stuff you could use while levelling could replace the one-offs. Crafting supplies, glyphs, money, etc. Just to help along. Then again if you have a 50 already you don't need that at all either.

@Palidon, did you conveniently skip the part about the leveling rewards being intended for new players?

Presumably because they introduce new players to crown crates and housing/inventory management.

But that benefits everyone not just new players, what if they never gave the option to obtain a 15th slot and the majority of older players already had all 14 slots filled with max crafters?

And those veteran players that just must have that level 20 reward can create a new character and level them up to 20.
Honestly, we should be lucky that they also offer this to existing accounts that create alts.

They could have just restricted it to new accounts and then none of us would get anything.

That's interesting. I never look at available mounts because I already have a bunch I don't use. Still, if you already own the sorrel horse, you don't really need a free mount.

For my part, if we're going to get such things as potions and respec scrolls as rewards we should at least be able to BANK them, store them in a chest, or sell them. As it stands we can do none of those things, and so I have been forced to DESTROY them. Possibly I could have had some use for them down the line, but I do not have an immediate use for them -- and I will NOT have them kicking around in my inventory, taking up valuable slots.

This should be an easy fix for ZOS. I hope they do it.

Except that's exactly why ZOS added the ability to buy a 15th character slot because of the outcry over players with 14 maxed characters.

ZOS wasnt about to miss out on that opportunity to make more $$$.
