Why can't we have the same character do PVP and PVE?

I know technically you can make a hybrid but it doesn't work well or at all really. Your character either has to be PVE or PVP based to play the game, there lays the problem especially at end game.

I like to play just one character and do end game dungeons and PvP. Why do we have to have only 1 option? Why cant we make a PVP build and when we are finished switch over to a PVE build? Do we really only get just one build? I tried to look everywhere, unless I missed something....That is just insane. So you dont get the full experience with your character you basically have to make two characters. One PVP and one PVE build.....

The game has been out for years, I see its been addressed many times but nothing has been done about it. It worked out Great in World of Warcraft. The same feature needs to be implemented into this game. What do you guys think?

Huh? I main one character, who does both.

Simplest switch which is viable for most content is weapon switch and skills.

Sure some builds you switch gear too, and as it gets serious CP and it would be great to have manequins at home to fast switch it all at once if you needed but seriously you dont need two toons to so both

I literally finish a battleground run on my Stam Sorc, and jump right into a random vet. The only thing I need to do is switch food and gear.

I might not have the super optimal race or CP setup, but it honestly doesn't matter in terms of your ability to do content.

You can there's nothing spotting you except some many gear/skill changes usually. Maybe some champion points changes to be more effective, but I walked in with my warden wearing spc and mending and healed both pve and pvp.

I have a MagDK who is a PVP Healer and a PVE Tank. I just leave my CP set for PVP and swap gear & skills when I want to tank. I'm sure if I wanted to, I could swap CP for each role too, but I'm lazy about it.

if this is a you don't feel like resetting your CP for pvp to pve and vice versa you can simply put CP for pve content and play in the no CP campaign. Cheers.

I play my main (Templar) in PvE as a healer and PvP as a solobuild, the only thing I need to change is gear and occasionally CP should I play on a CP-campain. That is a requirement of two minutes and 3k gold, I really don't see the problem.

True. I have no idea where OP is coming from. I know solid players who clear all HM trials on the same character they PvP on with overlord title and previous emperor. Small changes and they go straight from one to the other. Not talking about someone who is a lightweight in either.

Heck, even in PvE dungeons, not vet trials, I have some characters I can tank, heal or dps by merely swapping some stuff out.

you use literally the opposite morph of every skill on atleast sorc for pve and pvp. Maybe a healer could get away with it for warden or temp but seriously your not doing both right without changing saome morphs

The problem has never been character spec, the problem has allways been build limitations. The type of build and game PVP and PVE are is mutually exclusive.

But if you wanna convert the character to something that'll thrive in both, it isn't exactly hard. Dunno what your trying to pull here.

As with most people replying in this thread, I do both just fine.

My main is a dragonknight; I tank in PvE and do magicka DPS in group PvP. Literally the only conflict between them is that PvP needs the damage morph for talons while tanking prefers the one that applies maim.

Oddly I know a Sorc that fits the bill I spoke of before. Practically lives in PvP near the top of the rankings yet still does HM raids of all the trials. Maybe for your preference you change all your morphs, but it is hardly a requirement for being good. Heck, skill, not skills, make most of the difference.

Even if you do have to remorph a few skills, that's still less than 10k for an entire respec (morphs and CP)

Playing the game regularly will grant you at least that much hourly, so there's not much concern unless you're spending oodles of gold elsewhere.

Yeah but this right here is what the OP is saying is bogus and I actually agree. Why can’t I just buy a dual spec slot and switch back and forth at will. The fact this doesn’t exist yet is astonishing.

Also why are so many people here arguing about a feature that will literally make their lives easier... this is the dumbest community I have ever seen. “Why would you want dual spec when you can just pay gold and waste your time re allocating skills,cp, attributes anytime you go between pvp And pve or go from DD to Tank in pve hue hue hue”

The game really needs the option to have two or more configurations for your CP, stats and skill morphs. Re-speccing gets way too expensive, having to make alts of the same class for different content is just a huge waste of time. Gear changes only go so far, PVE/PVP or different roles such as dps vs tank tend to require different cp configs, different morphs or both.

For non-endgame content, you can do most or all of the veteran dungeon pledges on a PVP toon if you have the right gear. I wouldn't want to go for serious hardmodes or veteran trials though.
