ZOS Pls give us the option to hide weapons

The outfit system is great. I love to immerse myself when I walk around out of combat, but still be able to drop out of it and fight when a mob suddenly show up. Magbuilds are easy to immerse because those staves can be just a walking stick, but nothing ruin the look of a lady in a beautiful dress like 2 giant swords sticking out on her waist. I also RP a kind of beggar character and don't want people to mistake him from those highway robbers. Can we pls have the option to hide weapons when sheathed?

    Unequip them...

You'll be limited to class skills and one bar, but it will do what you're after.

It will even be immersive, because if you're roaming around with no weapon available, when you enter combat you'll have no weapon available.

    Problem solved.

Meh I think hes getting at the same idea of hide head slot.

which too be fair "shouldn't" be too hard too do. But it would require extra flare, i.e whenever you enter combat it would become visible again and unsheathed.

+ They could be RPing with traits or powers in mind and those might revolve around sets and if they're running 2-5-5 then unsloting weapons wouldnt work.

Idk tho im no RPer xD

Thank you I am aware of that option. But not all of my characters are strong enough to fight multiple landscape mobs without the stats and light/heavy attack from weapon. Even with my main, which is a stamsorc, that I RP as a beggar, the # of stam skills in class trees are too few it's not enough to fight comfortable. I want to be immersive and drop out of it whenever I want. I want to be immersive while I'm walking around collecting mats, but be able to drop out 10 seconds to handle a group of mobs guarding that ancester silk node without having to stop every minute to slot/unslot weapon.

I understand what he's getting at. Regardless, there is already method to do this.

You can costume option to less obnoxious weapons. I'd dare say even a beggar is going to keep a dagger on him for protection.

Unlike hide helmet, hidden weapons has some opportunities for abuse in PvP, in that you can have some idea what to expect from an opponent by knowing what weapon type they have slotted beforehand.

My problem is how stupid the equipped weapons look when hanging from my hips. My problem isn’t immersion, I simply hate the way it looks. And since ZOS seems to love making equipment with hip flaps, this isn’t going to change.

I really don’t want to equip and re equip my weapons everytime I fight something. I also don’t want to look stupid. Being able to hide my weapons or my hip flaps would be a perfect solution for me.

Fair enough. In non-PvP scenarios, I don't see this as being an unreasonable option.

Have you submitted it via /feedback in game?

ZOS already lock out some disguides in PvP like that one you get from a quest in AD zone that make you turn into some kind of "dust in the wind" which is almost invisible. They can do the same with hide weapon. Lock them out of Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds.

No offence, but what on earth is a lady in a beautiful dress doing walking around in such a place?

You like to immerse yourself and RP, which is absolutely wonderful, but why does this RP and immersion seem to completely be counter to the very world your character is in? That is not immersion, and that doesn't seem to make much sense.

Tamriel is a magickal and dangerous place at the best of times. A lady walking around in a beautiful dress in parts where danger lurks (such that necessitates the equipping and use of two swords) seems utterly nonsensical when taking into account just what immersion is all about.

If you can be anything, be kind.

Unless that lady is well practiced in the illusionary school of magic and has simply hidden those weapons from the eyes of those dangers, where ever they lurk.

Not to be difficult here, but Devil's Advocate regarding immersion: Which breaks immersion more, a character in costume having a weapon, just in case, or a character with no weapons suddenly summoning them out of thin air the moment combat begins?

I tend to think a beggar that can do the latter wouldn't have to stay a beggar for long?

This probably the 5th or 6th times I type this in this thread: I want to be in immesion when I want and IMMEDIATELY DROP OUT OF IT for 10s WHEN I WANT to kill a mob, then IMMEDIATELY GO BACK INTO IMMERSION. Having to stop every minute to equip/unequip weapon is annoying.

Immersion is ruining your immersion. Got it.

Alternative has been provided, either have your character be stronger, disengage the enemy, or deal with it in its current form.

The more I hear of this, the less I think it needs to take Dev resources.

The outfit system allows to overwrite swords with daggers. And some of the daggers are rather small. It is not exactly what you are looking for, but it helps.

You don't need to understand the way other people play, you only need to respect it if it's not effect your way of enjoying the game. I never understand people who spend hundreds $ on crown crate to get that one mount they miss either, but I don't jump into those threads about crown crate or "flaming horse breaking my immersion" and mock people or demand ZOS remove those mounts.

I don’t have anything against RP if they stay among themselves or use taverns or something. I’ve witnessed more than enough cringeworthy RP in Rhawl’ka to wish they’d respect others not wanting to read their stuff in /zone.

Out of the topic but no, he's just a "kind of beggar". He's a mad man and just live on the street by whatever people throw for him or stuffs he finds in the wild when one of his "joke" annoy people and he is chased out of the town by angry mobs.

But I did meet a bard that sang in Vivec city and begged for gold or just a piece of bread and he acted so well that I actually searched guild store for that tiny bread crumb furniture item to give him + 2000 gold for "a new lute". He never reply my mail but that small random thing actually make me happy that day.

Wouldn't it be easier to make a Toggle Equip Weapons?

Toggle on, you have weapons equipped. Toggle Off, your weapons go away. ZOS would have to make it work during combat, but that seems a much more likely solution than hiding weapons.

I've witnessed enough cringe-worthy dribble from the general player base in Wayrest too, but no way do I expect that's an accurate sample of the entire player-base, nor do I wish the entire player base keep to themselves so I don't have to read the dribble in /zone.

What an utterly ridiculous thing you've written. Shows your lack of understanding (perhaps you're lack of willingness to even try to understand) what RP is. Furthermore, perhaps highlights your general intolerance for views/ideals outside your own.

But continue on with your head in the sand if that makes you feel happy.
