Having fun getting War Horn

I have two alts that I play in dungeons, a DK health tank, and a Templar healer. They are both leveled in the high 30's, and the builds I am following say that both of them should have Aggressive Horn as ultimate on their second bar. I have been putting off going to Alliance War and leveling Assault Skills. Today I took both alts to Alliance War, kept saying "lfg" in group chat - and got invited to join groups. And it didn't feel like a grind before I leveled Assault Skills to level 4 for War Horn. Probably two hours on each alt.

Many thanks to the two groups that allowed my PVE build alts to tag along while they traveled around the map capturing resources and keeps. I still have open character slots, perhaps someday I will build an alt just for PVP.

I've never understood the whining behind the 'warhorn grind'. I get that some people don't enjoy PVP/exclusively PVE, but it is super quick and easy to unlock.

the biggest part I hate about the warhorn grind is the load screens from dieing and mount speeds suck if you are not maxed out which is important in horse simulator cyrodil. luckily bg ap rates were buffed by alot

Warhorn grind is nothing compared to the Caltrops grind. Congrats though!!

These things used to be a real pain go get before they rescaled the amount of AP to get them and made captures actually reward some AP. They are not so bad now. Getting proxy det (it used to be good in PVE too as it was very OP) used to be like 6 months in PVP. None of it is so bad anymore. On the PVE side the undaunted stuff also used to be quite a pain to get.

I find having a good PVP General is key to having a good time in Cryodil PVP.
Zerging is just nowhere near as fun as some good PVDoor.
I know PVDoor gets a bad wrap but constant pointless fighting isn't as rewarding as seeing your alliance wrack up keeps and resources and progress through good strategic plays. Plus as long as the campaign is reasonably populated it is rare that you wont eventually run into resistance and then the real fun begins.

I’m in a very similar boat, OP! I had to get war horn for my Templar healer, and now I’m actually considering working on my next alt as a PVP character... I liked Cyrodiil a lot more than I thought I would by virtue of it being war games rather than pure 1v1 PvPing!

We always take new people into our groups and after a while they learn to love it even though they just came for the skills. Happy you found a good group to run with OP.

I use to solo play a lot but started PvDooring last 2 30day campaigns its a crazy fast way to make AP I'm at 11mil ap right now and alliance rank 36. I'm grinding out 5 star and the time goes by really fast with fun people to talk to.
