Problem is not ZOS, problem is YOU

You keep on paying and playing ESO, even though every patch and update seem to have more and more unfinished stuff, bugs and major issues.

You keep on paying and playing, even though you hate every update and balance changes.

Solution?

Play, don't pay unless you're happy. Demand better quality of service.

ZOS will listen when the cash flow is low enough
NB enthusiastic:
  1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
  2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
  3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
  4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

Go dominion or go home

Nightblade-Hipster. I played Nightblade before it was cool - from 1.5 onwards.

Not true. I've played a certain other mmorpg where the devs couldn't care any less if 80% of their playerbase went somewhere else. And when those updates came and server population was thin as hair they never went back on thwir changes.

It makes no business sense to run a cashcow into the ground but people do it regardless.

The players bringing the most money aren't affected much about class balance, glitched mechanics in dungeons, PvP latency and other such problems since they mostly care about the cosmetics they sell in crown store. So even if the game is bad in terms of actual gameplay, as long as there's something shiny to sell, that's where priorities will lie.

Players being in game, whether subbed or not, are still a huge advertisement to any new players.

New players coming in and seeing a fully populated world are more likely to stick around and keep playing (and maybe paying as well).

If you really want to make a stand for something, you not only have to stop paying, but also stop playing. Stopping one and not the other is pointless.

Note: that's for the folk who are protesting the game in some form, not those who genuinely just don't need/want/can't afford the subscription.

I don't play anything I don't enjoy, to do so would be a stupid waste of my life.

I enjoy ESO enough to keep playing (and paying) even with the issues it has, if that ever changes I'll walk away.

Remember when Morrowind hit and a big name in the ESO community left and all their fans started making threads saying everyone should cancel subs and leave as well because it would convince ZOS to change?

Morrowind was a massive success that got more people playing ESO and made ZOS more money. Telling people on a forums to stop paying and supporting a game might get 100 people or so to stop their subs, but you're not going to reach the 10 million accounts the game has.

Also in my years playing MMO games I have seen this "cancel your sub" work once, and that was EVE Online because they lost 2k+ subs within a month. That hurt them because EVE has a much smaller player base and their community is much more engaged. You're not going to see it with a MMO like ESO unless it's a titanic event which upsets the community (like actual pay to win being added).

The majority of ESO players are fine and enjoying the game. They probably don't even know these forums exist.

It is the whinging, entitled addicts that are so addicted to the game that they get on these forums when they can't be playing.

They overdo it to the point of failure.

They need to realise that it is time to stop playing, at least for awhile, because all they have now is the addiction rather than the fun they once felt.
