Let us choose to play between battlegrounds with CP or No-CP

Hey guys before we start debating about this matter, I just would like to say that I love playing battlegrounds in either way but after playing battlegrounds with no-CP I just can clearly see how the game is definitely depending on the CP system because it's very stupid to see how I can kill other players instantly...

My conclusion: PvP is better and funnier with CP because fights last longer time, allowing you to do more.

I think this would be a better compromise.

I am happy it's back to No-CP but don't think the flip flop was helpful.

Agreed. Give us a choice; there are better ways to bring more players to BGs (cough-like making BGs base game-cough).

I believe they're keeping on or the other because there's not enough players in BG to have both options. Not sure if that's true or not but that's my guess.

Yes, I'm aware of it and I think that's the reason they only allow one mode at a time... But it would be interesting to see it on live production so they can get real statistical data about the percentage of what mode do most of the players prefer to play.

The thing is as the change to CP showed, those who prefer one game mode just don't bother playing the other. Yes one mode might have a small population where the "don't care" crowed go to their preferred method but you also bring in all the "won't play" crowed from the side it's not currently set to.

If they are going to split the queues, they should do it by having a separate queue for randomized teams and a queue that preserves group composition. Allow groups to queue for both if they want to, as long as they understand that the teams will be randomized if the randomized queue pops first.

Cannot split the queue four ways.

Not saying NoCP is perfectly balanced as is, but noCP is the only environment they should be designing PvP combat in. It's the only way to handle power creep.

The base game has been altered and core mechanics changed, base values tweaked, to accommodate for the champion system. Thats how they dealt with power creep. NO CP is not your base game. NO CP is a gimped, neutered, version of what the game actually is. That is not what pvp should be designed around, unless all the nerfs to everything are first reverted.

If you prefer no CP, thats great. Stay in under populated sotha sil with like minded individuals. Which is for some mysterious reason clearly the least favorite max level campaign. But don't try to force your preferences on other people with assertions about what should be done. Im sure if we put it to a vote, balancing the game around cps only would win by a landslide.

Totally agree with you, this is the first time I play PvP in No-CP and after some thinking I easily realise that taking away CP from everyone... Doesn't actually mean that fights will be balanced and make everything fair.

I know this sounds kind of ironic at first hand but the explanation to this is very simple, it's like if you are cutting apart an already implemented functional system. And they already did this when CP was first implemented they took apart of the players resources to the CP system... So basically they are already a one piece.

Yeah well at some point I also thought something like this, but asking ZoS/Devs this is impossible so an easier solution will be to NOT allow premades to battlegrounds.

Problem was, at the time of nCP creation, sustain and DMG was off the charts. 20% cost reduction on skills was huge.

So those of use in the nCP camp argued the quickest way to balance PvP would have been nCP. But we also argued that poisons needed to be reviewed, proc sets, and to conduct class balance in order to make it perfect.

Instead they nerfed proc sets a little (fixed some broken buffs too), nerfed sustain options in additional to nerfing CP sustain, didn't touch poisons and didn't address the stamina cost on defensive CP that gimps mag builds.

That's why current nCP is trash compared to CP now.

So queue for both. I like both modes and sometimes feel like playing one or the other.

No. Because the queue times are already terrible and if you split CP and no CP, there will be less people in each. Queues will be worse. NEEDS to be no CP.

Solution - have option for either CP or NonCP, but make it free for everyone so the population can increase.

Yeah this is a great solution actually, I mean I have the Morrowind Chapter and ESO+ and I really think that battlegrounds shouldn't even need to be a chapter exclusive, they must be part of the base game or at least some battlegrounds modes... I mean ZoS makes more money with other things.

Battlegrounds don't really work as well with champion points.
Given that PVP in this game is balanced around cyrodil, and having a variety of counters and such, the power of certain aspects of champion points are negated.

In Battlegrounds, being able to cut someones healing by 70% is just brutal, especially in a random team where most of the time you aren't going to have access to a purge.
Additionally, Time To Kill in no-CP is normalised. It takes longer to pop squishies and less time to bring down a tank, along with actually being able to pressure resources makes the mode feel much more balanced for small groups.

Finally, if you are going to split queues, I'd much rather see a ranked or a 4 man queue implemented than splitting between cp/no-cp

A better solution is to upscale everyone to max CP in battlegrounds. You still have everyone on an equal footing CP wise and there won't be a population split with 2 queues.
