Storage Boxes & Museum Stuff

So, I bought a storage box from the store. The 30 slot one. I go to my home, place it, and then tried to stick a museum piece in there to free up some inventory space.

It won't go in there.

Was this intentional?

I thought the museum pieces were Quest items, can you not just turn it in the the museum?
