To ZoS,
So the wife and I had a discussion not too long ago about ESO's end game (PVE). Now many will think I am talking about Trials and what not but I am not. HoF( Halls of Fabrication) and AS( Asylum Sanc) are fine trials. They are not in depth like say WoW raids nor as long but they suit the purpose and for the most part are made quite well but that is only a part of the end game. See when I write I might have various issues, side problems and small battles for each of my characters but in the end there is and almost always has to be a centralized issue that affects all the world regardless. Currently there isn't anything like that in the game that keeps us coming back. Molag Bal has been throwing down dolems, some people do bad things in their lands only, but if you are going to make people stay you need something that is causing havoc on a global scale and not only that but there also has to be incentives to why I am going to save this world. (Sad but true) My wife for example may occasionally play a trial only on normal, farm a bit, yet she says she only logs on to do her crafting writs and that is it. She says she would stay on and do other things but for the most part there is not really anything to do once you have maxed level and did all the quests for all the zones. I see her point. There is in its sense the reason you have many people buying the game but not continuing to play it. There is no real centralized antagonist that is at the time or for the time causing havoc and the character you play has to do something to either prevent it or at least try to stop it whether doing dailies that play a intricate role in holding back the darkness or etc...
There are so many things you can do that also doesn't require the player to do so much that it ends up being an all time consuming daily thing but at the same time make them play into the world to which they are incorporating. I am sure you have pondered these things also but I've also noticed that many people seem to die out once they get toward the end because there is nothing driving them other then collecting some gear set they don't have yet. Vvardenfell or your Morrowind xpac was nice to look at, along with the quests and new area to conquer but there was no real reason to even return there other than HoF and a few motifs. Many of the people in game consider it a bust because to them it seemed you got a new classs and a new area and that was it... which goes back to my centralized antagonist issue. Any antagonist(Molag Bal sub ordinate found a dark crystal with supreme power and now is trying to take over all of world) could work as long as you made it noticeable, believable and something that would make anyone try to kill it and when they did feel a good accomplishment for doing it. Now don't get me wrong it helps people stick to something more when you add incentives such as boss can drop a very rare mount, pet, and whatever else you can throw at them. I am sure the balance act of what you put in the store to ensure the business succeeds and the mounts you put in game to make people stay is a must but nothing makes people stick with it and grind, grind and more grinding if they have something they can achieve or find. (Trust me my wife has over 300 plus mounts on wow and she keeps that account going regardless because she has end game stuff there and mounts to constantly keep striving for more.)

I am not sure if you would read this but I thought I would put my two cents in,
Rock
( On a lighter note you guys should do a monthly thing about a zookeeper or some crazy guy who hordes certain pets and mounts and every two weeks or so you have to do a certain set of quests to seek him out. Once you do he will appear and offers to sell you a few pets or mounts nothing to fancy but you have to collect some rare material or something in that realm that drops off any world boss or dolmens. You probably would see quite a uptick in people doing dolmens and world bosses world wide. Make some of the items tradeable and that would help both the people who like to do things for gold and the guild banks. Make the other stuff account bound but more desirable etc...)
