Vvardenfell - why so expensive?

When checking the furnishings that come from certain achievements in Morrowind I wonder why they are so expensive in total. I mean we already bought the expansion with real money, completed all the quests and now need to pay 1,305,000 gold to buy all the furnishings.
It seems unfair that the rewards in payable content cost so much.
ZOS what were you thinking when setting those prices?

Gold sinks, most players are sitting on 1-5mil gold these days if they've dedicated to making money at some point or been with the game long enough.

I find ESO housing and furniture expensive in general - especially compared to EQII and Rift where $20.00 could buy you a massive home and you could furnish it fully for another $20.00. I love the housing and furniture options in ESO but I wonder why it's so costly? I'm a fairly new player so I'm not sitting on 1-5 million, far, far, far from it.

I like that furnishings and homes in ESO are pricey to make and to buy. What else am i going to spend gold on? If everything was cheap, there would be no need for me to make gold. And pricey furnishings give a sense of accomplishment when you acquire them in a game that gives very few senses of accomplishment.

Yes, I am shocked to see flowers selling for 100k in the guild stores I must admit!

This is not about cheap but fair. No logic in such expensive furnitures. I could understand ZOS wants a profit from crown sales but for God's sake the value here is gold.
Lower these damn prices, stop dividing players for those who can afford everything, and all others.

130k for Temple Doctrine: The 36 Lessons, really?
100k for small Statuette of Clavicus Vile, Masked, what?
150k for Statue of Vivec the Champion, yeah

If the BA motif dropped me a single time, but no, not a single time and do they know how hard is to get the first milion for the manor and then next for most the overland furnishing, then another just for Morrowind?

Another example the Covering/Terrified ebony statues cost 50k/pc, a black version of the statues from Coldharbour that costs 5x less - 10k gold. These prices are crazy, pure nonsense.

And... if they are so costly, at least make them all sellable for a decent gold, if it costs 100k at vendor, let me sell it at 100k too, if I don't want it anymore or made a mistake. Why I buy furniture for 100,000 but can sell the same unused for just 100. Another nonsense.

This is a weird comparison... you talk about 1-5 million gold then comapre to IRL money. I don't mind items being expensive in GOLD... that's fine since yes, I'm sitting on 3 million right about now. BUT - there is no reason for a huge home to cost $120 real life money, then take another $100-400 to furnish.

Sorry, I was referring to the other poster's comment about most players having 1-5 million on them to spend and I got my thoughts crossed. I blame old age Didn't mean to confuse you, you said it much better than I did with your excellent point about a home costing $120.00 in real life - that's what shocked me as it's more than a DLC or an expansion.

I was just trying to understand what the rationale is behind the high cost which is also why I phrased it as a question so it wouldn't come off as a complaint.

@carly - no worries! I stopped caring about complaints, there's a lot that was better before this became "overpriced F2P". I'm not a fan of F2P models, but ZOS did it a lot better in the beginning before everything became ridiculously overpriced, and the artifical rarity got sooooooo inflated.

$120 is more than double the full price of base game, yet people (like me) who love housing pay it, because there's no other option. I really, REALLY want Princely Dawnlight Palalce, but it irks me to spend my next 6 months of crowns, PLUS and additional 3 months of crowns for it.

That's interesting. When Homestead was launched, people started to make more gold to buy a house and to furnish it. Homestead supposed to be a great gold sink. And, huge amounts of gold went to crafters that were crafting and selling furniture.
Now ZOS decided to make Vvardenfell and CwC furniture even more expensive.
It's a gold sink for a gold that was earned because of a previous gold sink!
