How About a New Monster Helm for Major Brutality and Major Sorcery?

Might we get an offensive monster helm in the near future that gives Major Brutality and Major Sorcery?

(1 items) Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
(2 items) Gain Major Brutality and Major Sorcery at all times, increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by 20%.
(2 items) Adds 833 Weapon and Spell Critical


It would be pretty much the opposite of the defensive-themed Mighty Chudan:

(1 items) Adds 2975 Spell Resistance
(1 items) Adds 2975 Physical Resistance
(2 items) Gain Major Ward and Major Resolve at all times, increasing your Physical and Spell Resistance by 5280.
(2 items) Adds 1206 Max Health

Well I don’t think anyone really uses Chudan much. All classes have easy access to it. Same with Major brut/sorc. Templar’s can just toss entropy on, or melee dps shrouded daggger (or for trials, weapon/spell power pots)

Yup, but it would be cool to have a major brutality/sorcery helm as an option. Certain builds could slot it as a monster helm and open up a skill slot, and/or not be forced to run a specific weapon.

Yeah, I would consider that helm kinda bad, but I'm sure there would be some that would like the convenience, based on the popularity of Rattlecage.

And the symmetry with Chudan is oddly compelling.

Early on of have jumped at it as bar space can be a premium, but unsure of its value now. I dabbled with rattlecage but bar a templar PvP healer didn't have much joy.

Power surge is too needed for PvE, or ur on pots for trials and losing a damage helm would.be DPS loss.

I'd have jumped at this when leveling but unsure now. Maybe on Pet sorc as bars limited

I'm glad you mentioned Rattlecage because I had been trying to think about the best way to balance a 2 piece monster helm that gives the buffs compared to 5 piece sets like Rattlecage and Dreugh King Slayer.

Compared to my suggestion for the set piece bonuses in the first post, Rattlecage gives 3 more slots of spell power and a slot of max health, while Dreugh King Slayer gives 2 more slots of weapon damage, a slot of max health, and major expedition upon a kill. I think it comes out well balanced.

would end up like chudan. (a.k.a. only used by the %00.02 of the community that can't keep their buffs up, and the other 3 guys that want a free skill spot for some niche build)

Tho I would prefer this over broken crap like zaan or earthgore. Makes much more sense to add this over those.

We indeed need need such set that wont be another proc. But major sorc/brut is to easy to get, and skills that grant it also has additional good effects, while procsets sets has some very strong effects, and even additional effects accompanied proc. Thats why additional effect to major sorc/brut should be strong enough, to not be another chudan or warrior-poet.

A better question: Should two piece monster bonuses give major buffs?

I mean, slimecraw gives minor berserk, it would be ridiculous with major.

Pirate skeleton gives major protection, and still allows you to purge the bad effects on live. We all know this set is OP, it should probably be minor with a better proc chance.

Five piece riposte gives *minor* maim to people shooting at you. Five piece rattle gives major sorcery.

I’m not certain any major buff class fits with any two piece bonus. It’s too much IMO. It should be a temporary buff from a skill, a class passive, or maybe a five piece.

This is a great idea. - replace the crit in the OP with Minor Magickasteal and Minor Staminasteal applied to any target that hits you (in addition to the Major Sorc/Brut). This would be my new favorite monster set.

I want a helmet that reduces damage to and from other players to 0 with a 5% chance of causing a rainbow to shoot from the players chest. The helmet resembles a stuffed bear and hide helmet is disabled while wearing it.

Even if they introduce that monster set why would you wear that ? 1 kena + 1 velidreth with weapon power pots would give you more damage

I'd wear it in builds where I'm not trying to squeeze out every bit of damage and would like to open up an extra skill slot. Pure bow builds that don't need to rely on 2H also come to mind.
