To PVPers of IC: Quota on killing the same noob/PVEer/no threater?

Edit: For the people that are gonna come and say 'it's PVP, deal with it you evil carebear' I am not upset about the 1st or 2nd time, 1st time is 'crap, I should have dumped them in the bank sooner' 2nd time is 'I have horrible luck' 3rd time is when I get suspicious that the person is purposely looking for me. 4th time is 'why am I bothering gathering Tel Var for jerks?'

Just curious, what is your quota on killing the same person when they either don't fight back or when they do they only last a few seconds? Granted I'm thinking more in terms of the Imperial city/sewers but this can apply in Cyrodiil too I guess, though you don't really lose anything in Cyrodiil

I ask because I get grieved by the same person often when trying to get Tel Var, whih tends to ruin my whole evening because why bother collecting Tel var for a hour straight just for the same PVPer to steal it in a few seconds? But yet in the forums I often see people bragging that they leave people alone after one or two deaths. So I imagine these people are probably in the minority.

Note that I don't mean people that DO attack you first or a pitiful ganker that keeps trying to kill you, if they attack they deserve whatever death you give them. I more mean folks that either run away, stand there and block or otherwise don't even get a chance to do anything. Or maybe they'll try to defend themselves after you attack after the first time but it's pitiful.

I mean, I fully expect a bunch of the friendly PVP crowd to try and soften the numbers but yeah.... This is probably the main reason i hate PVP so much, most of them seem to rather pick on the little guys and laugh about it then have a real fight. But that's why I made the poll, to see if I'm just unlucky or are PVPers just that careless.

    Usually none.

    I heal, I don't kill.

Of course, if my group wants to kill someone a few times, I hang around. I speak up when I start feeling sorry for them... but in solo play, I rarely get a kill. Every once in a while someone tries to camp me, I just move on to another part of IC.

Would it be better if it was a different person that killed you each time?

It is a PvP zone and a fairly low population PvP zone. If you keep venturing into the area the player is then it would seem odd he/she would not kill you. Running away or simply standing them is not a universal sign to not kill a player in PvP.

If this troubles you I suggest avoiding IC altogether.

Yes it would be better, because then it's not the same person that I have no hope against/I'm not getting picked on and singled out, just *** for luck.

And I don't go back to the same area, I move to a different section of the sewers or different district, usually not the one right next to the one I died at. If it is in the sewers, I tend to go up top since the sewers is choke pointed in a lot of places.

I'm going to get accused of "victim blaming" here, but if you keep wandering around the imperial city with all your loot on display, you're asking for some lowlife like me to take it off your hands!

Honestly though, what are you even doing in there if you haven't taken the most basic of precautions? You didn't bring some friends with you for protection? You didn't take a few invisibility potions with you? You're just going to rely on the honest human decency of your attackers?

You're really not missing much by simply staying out of the PVP areas, since you don't want to actually... Y'know... PVP.

Well, when you enter IC you are inviting others to kill you. If you get killed and enter again you are inviting that same person to kill you again. Over and over. It seems to be your choice to allow this to continue. Since the end effect of being killed by the same player over and over vs different players each time is the same, it seems this is a very small issue.

Again, it is a PvP area. If you are upset about getting killed by players or even a single player over and over I suggest either learn how to fight back or avoid the zone.

I'm only ok at pvp, and with a horrible laptop I take whatever I can get :) generally, I don't trust anyone from opposing factions. Someone "just walking" might be a tank with two gankers. A 1v1 might be a 1vx and you stand to "have honor" and get focused.

Even as someone who frequently goes to the sewers, on a busy night, I drop of stones quickly. If it isn't the most active, I go for about 14k and deposit. Maybe the person didn't attack because they are dcing? who knows, in general, I either kill on sight or leave when I know I can't win 1 vs 1.

Its one thing leaving a person alone inside a delve in cyrodiil, people dont go to delves looking for fights.
Now IC and Cyrodiil in general are another story, you may NOT want to fight me now that you are solo or duo, but as soon as your numbers increase everything changes, i have been zerged by pvers multiple times, if they outnumber you 3 to 1 suddenly they think its a good idea having a go at pvpers.

For pitiful ganker like me, IC is perfect place to increase ego by 1vX poor PvErs. I remember when I was doing arena with some other guy and when we killed last boss, 4 yellows appeared at the entrance and we all started sneaking. When we found eachother, me and this other guy just slaughtered them and I felt really bad when I was chasing last sorc running from me. :D Normally when I see that someone is completely potato (no offense) in PvP, I just wait for their first move, If they come closer than 5 meters then I attac, but they never actually have enough stones to be worth killing everytime, so I just kill Xivkyns on my own ignoring them. I remember when other sorc was running across arboretum and I tried to show her/him that I'm here waiting to be attacked, but she just ignored me completely so I gave up. But you need to remember that IC is PvP zone so you better learn how to avoid other players (If you are stamina based, then I suggest night's silence set for running while sneaking ;) ).

TBH I didn't say that directly, the first time I was killed it was a hour, after that it only took a few minutes. Which is dumb since that means neither of us are getting any Tel Var.

TBH it's a PVA zone, not a PVP zone.

Player VS All, in fact I'd even go as far as to say it's more PVE then PVP

If ZOS didn't try to tempt PVErs into going with their crappy system of killing PVE mobs to get stones, it wouldn't be such a problem. But... there's bosses and a real challenge there, then a PVPer comes by and takes all your hard work.

In Cyrodiil, there's like no penalty to dying, so no biggie, the worst thing is you gotta respawn and ride your mount to wherever you were at, but in IC, it's like solely built for PVPers to hunt PVEers and steal their hard work.

This is pretty much the case. I personally don't like harassing and driving people away from the game, but plenty of people do it on purpose and couldn't care less. You see groups of top level PVPers out in Cyrodiil farming new players day in and day out, but never engaging each other, all of the time. You should know if you don't that this is the current state of the game. And remember, throughout history men have killed each other in swaths for economic gain, so you aren't going to find anything different here.

I was just kidding btw. I haven't pvp yet because I don't understand it at all. I went into a campaign did a few tutorial quests but never seen any one else.

I don't even know what tel stones are for.

Can you be fully looted? I'm not even sure or is it just tel stones.

I think it is cool there is one place in the game where dying actually does matter and mean something. I'll kill everyone I see. I do feel bad about it sometimes if it is a low level player or someone who's skills are clearly not up to par but at the same time I know that players never cut me any slack when I was learning and I've lost countless stacks of tel var before i learned how to defend myself so I can't justify cutting them any slack.. It was motivation for me to learn and improve as a PvP player and find a guild to help. Now? I don't lose tel var so much and I can gain even more from others. I think that kind of stuff is good and healthy for players. The game needs ONE area where dying actually has consequences.

Tel var stones are a special type of currency in the DLC Imperial City, which is mainly gained by killing monsters (daedra) in that area, but if you die from a player they take half of whatever you currently have on you, the same if you die from a PVE source, except no one gets the stones, they're just lost forever.
No you can't be fully looted, if that was the case the PVPers would have no one to kill because no one in their right mind would go there.

Unfortunately, it depends on how paranoid I am at the time :P. There have been several times when I don’t even engage in combat with other players and we both walk away happy.

Other times, however, I’m on edge and just want to make sure I don’t get rekt, so if I see anyone then my reflexes kick in and I’m like “Oh *#*%^$&**!!!” And the next thing I know, one of us is dead.

As the PvE'er (too lazy to put effort into real PvP gear or specs), until they stop running into the same area they died

I'd frown upon a big fish stalking the no-threat around keeps/districts though
