PvP is so annoying

I have been playing magDK and stam NB around cyrodiil and as soon as I go up against more than 1 person I'm dead within a couple of seconds, yet I see other nb and dk taking hits all day long by multiple people. I even used phirah set on my mag dk and still get annihilated. Why?

PvP is like 50% experience, 40% skill, 10% sets.

We all died hundreds of times before we even hit "average" level of gameplay.

As long as you are wearing 2-3 full sets, keep practicing. Line of sight is your best friend when outnumbered. If you are low CP stick to Sotha Sil. Don't be afraid to die, it's the only way to learn :).

If you aren't CP maxed and dont have a decent build, you wont succeed. If you have both of these things, then it will literally come down to playing the class for longer. Try focus on one because mDK and sNB have very different playstyles.

You can be max cp and still be a complete noob. If your problem is staying alive work on mitigating damage, keeping your heals up, los and kiting until it becomes natural.

Learn your rotation. Staying alive is as much about knowing your class as it is about knowing the class you’re fighting. If you’re 1vX you can’t just got full offense. You have to break down fights into multiple 1v1. Learn to identify which targets you can ignore for now (like low damage tanks), and which you can pick off right away (the bow spammer in then back). And you have to learn to kite and draw targets out. Confuse people and spread them out. But you also have to remember that 1vX is only really possible against people pretty well below your skill level. If you run into people who know what they’re doing you’re gonna get trashed. Keep trying, it takes a long time.

I play this game since early access and PvP since lvl 10 (day one) and I can't (on magblade melee) 1 vs 2 most of the times. Don't worry man, practice. There are always worse players then you :disappointed:

fighting bad players as they try to run away :o

Max CP don't mean anything. What is your CP distribution? Do you also use block? I know a lot of players get destroyed because they never use block.

Learn about LoS. Learn your passives so that you know them INSIDE OUT. then same with skill trees and skills. same with CP trees and distribution.

I've had to pretty much start over as I didn't use to pay much attention to all the above. but i had awesome gear. - "ALL THE GEAR, BUT NO IDEA...".

Also. learn to enjoy the learnig curve - no one knows everything overnight. It takes years to accumulate the reall PvP knowledge. Take every day as it comes and learn to love every new piece of knowledge you acquire as it will last longer and serve you better than the very best gear. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat - llearn from your vctories and have the composure to learn from your losses.

When you get repeatedly smashed by the same player, stay calm and appreciate their skill but resolve to get to the same level one day. you can start that by picking when, where and who you fight. Do you go to flip your keeps resource where a known 1 v Xer is just waiting to murder you? Or do you prepare and wait and then go with a buddy?

I'm learning all the time. i have arthritis in my hands so its a bit of a longer learning curve but I'm getting there. I currently consider myself an upper-echelon scrub. Haaa.

one last thing - hate opposing alliances but not players. Never make it personal. it's a game. and no matter what we want, one day it will be no more and I think we'd all want fond memories than a heart full of regret. :)

You're not alone. Same with bashing. A couple of days ago a guildie asked me how to handle a particular move. "If you're that close, just bash him."

    "I don't have a shield."

stamNB isnt very good at 1vX to begin with... or well it is but it requires alot of anticipation and experience cos you cant afford to get hit by more than 1 person at the same time. 1 CC and you´re dead if you get focussed. get around 1k mag regen so you can spam cloak alot. make sure you always have vigor up when your engaging and use cloak to get out of sticky situations. if you cant take down your target in 4-5 secs its most of the time wise to disengage and reset. some defensive rotations can help alot here. if you took dmg you can do like vigor -> cancel by dodgeroll -> cloak. if you´re snared you can do the same with shuffle -> dodgeroll cancel -> cloak -> rally if you need to heal aswell. keep in mind that both rally and shuffle dont unstealth you so you should always have those up when engaging. vigor however does unstealth you so be aware of that. fear can also be a strong tool when you need to get ppl off you. fear+cloak will however drain almost your complete mana bar and fear only works vs 2 ppl now so if you have more on you it becomes very ineffective. your best way to get out of bad situations is good use of shadow image. always put it up somewhere on the side of the area you´re fighting in and teleport to it -> cloak when *** hits the fan.

mDK survival is abit easier as you can just use a permablock build. (the braindead way of surviving which you see all the time in cyrodiil cos even god awful players can manage that) however you have literally 0 mobility on DK outside of mist form which isnt that great either so make sure to use the terrain to your advantage. never fight in open field.hug trees, rocks, cliffs, whatever you can find to break los and make sure you have a leap rdy when attempting to kill something. go into turtlemode until leap is rdy again.

thze way ZOS decided to ruin pvp so the casuals dont get farmed all day makes it mandatory to break up huge groups into smaller groups or preferably 1v1´s. you cant 1v30 in open field anymore like you used to be able to. los and mobility is key to success now. even 1v2 if fighting ppl that are on par or close to your skill level is sure death nowadays without the use of terrain and mobility to turn the 1v2 into 2 seperate 1v1´s.

PVP has a large learning curve.. PVP gives you no room for mistakes ... Sets mean less vs. Player abilities...

My advise run in larger groups never try to solo at first in PVP.. After you gain in knowledge and the ability to animation cancel start soloing slowly work you way up from there ..

Deffinitely takes experience, I’m only 467cp but played on console at cap for a long time and I do fine in pvp since I know what I’m doing. Although being at cap would make thing easier with sustain and mitigation it by no means stops me from crushing cp cap players

The kind of advice people never give, but has helped me a lot (I'm hardly great, but better than I was).

-Make sure you have your skills set up ergonomically. By that I mean, stuff like your buffs that you need constantly up on a mouse button right next to your finger etc. It's all well and good having decent bars if you keep fumbling the rotation.

-Keep experimenting with your skills. Just because everyone on the forum swears by certain skills doesn't mean they will work for you. Shade is a lifesaver, but only if you know how to use it, if not it's merely a wasted slot. Same applies to gear, some people may say it's BIS but if it doesn't complement your style it's wasted.

-Use heavy armour or a defensive set to help learn your rotation, when to dodge, block, etc. The damage is less, but then you don't do much damage when you're dead do you. Then when you put on more offensive gear it will feel like you're on steroids.

-Battlegrounds will help you learn faster than any amount of time playing Horse Simulator. The amount of downtime you have in open world and the prevalence of zergs makes it so that you get far less experience in balanced fights than you think you're getting. Dueling is a totally different skill to thee rest of pvp IMO, but it will teach you a lot about where your weaknesses are etc.

Just a few things to think about. You will still come up against people who seem to be Superman, but in general it's best to leave them alone.

In cyro there are a lot of works you can do that help youb to learn how to play. For example, always it is necessary a guy protecting a FC... also there's always the need of a guy looking for enemie's FC. Also corpses are necessary. Theres always a guy rezzing a group after a fight.

Each one of those tasks will help you with the learning process
