I can remember it happened relatively early on last year for Morrowind, but I am anxious to see the features for the next chapter.

I had noted it down that the Morrowind Chapter was revealed on: Jan 31, 2017 and released June 6, just to have an idea when we might see info on the coming chapter for this year. It is now Jan 29, 2018.... sooooooo.... any day now for some news... maybe? :o

Not that it matters, but they did publish an order.

"we'll have a DLC in the first quarter of each year, a Chapter in the second quarter, a dungeon-based DLC in the third quarter, and a DLC in the 4th quarter."

Obviously, we are getting the "dungeon-based DLC" in the first quarter, which might mean two dungeon-based DLCs this year, or they have already tossed the schedule in the trash and are winging it this year.

Wow you're right, it happened January 30th last year. Thought it was later.
Now I'm really hyped for Summerset.

Still think Morrowind was announced when it was because marketing had already committed to a Super Bowl ad.

If Bethesda isn't doing a Bowl ad this year, the announcement will probably be pushed back. Also note that while at this time last year we were already discussing the Vvardenfell's land mass, we don't have much mined information to go on now. So we may be looking at a later Q2 release date as well.

They may have gotten better at hiding stuff. But you may be right, but they may also have a trick up their sleve. I am just hoping for some answers Soon™.

I'd be interested in seeing whether ZOS can do deep swamp. I am not impressed by the swamp in Shadowfen. Too rocky. Not enough swamp. I don't think Murkmire will be a Chapter, though. I still think it will be a DLC.

Hopefully never. Maybe they will just apologise for the whole chapter fiasco and go back to delivering 4 DLC a year as promised.

I'm not really looking forward to a DLC sized "chapter" padded with a huge inaccessible area in the middle and some pay-to-win mechanic, or game style locked behind it.

Maybe they will mention dlc plans for the year in eso live when previewing dragon bones. I for one am a little disappointed they are pushing dungeon dlc first. Since we just got HOTR. Hopefully they will still do 3 zones as promised

Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

    Yes?

Murkmire isnt entirely swampland. There are jungle forests and rolling hills. Its possibly more beautiful than Summerset with how naturally vibrant it is.

Yeah, I highly doubt a black marsh land filled with mud and filthy lizards will be anywhere near as vibrant or beautiful as Summerset. Even the names are total opposites.

I hope they expand the game in new areas for the next chapter. A new trial...dungeon... I don’t know, I’d like to see more, such as weapon lines, necromancer, player crafted cities and defense, and pvp overhaul such as small pvp zones that impact aspects of the game such as slight exp boost or node drops.

I'm kinda curious to hear what their plans are. I never pre-order these days, so that's not happening. But some info would be nice.

Last time they had a lot going for it - Morrowind name carried a lot of nostalgic value. A new class, first time since release. Battlegrounds for PvPers (something we haven't had anything new for since IC, the rest was just more PvE). Those are all major, major selling points.

But this new one, presumably Summerset Isles? Just doesn't have the same "Ooooh!" value we got out of Seyda Neen. A new class I *very* much doubt would be happening, seeing that they couldn't even balance 4, and now they have 5. Throwing in a 6th would be too much. Battlegrounds are already out, and Cyrodiil and IC already exist, so I don't expect anything for PvPers.

What I do expect them to do is take some new game mechanic, and lock it behind that pay wall. My guess would be either a new weapon skill line (I'm thinking 1H + Focus for magicka and Unarmed for stamina, I don't think ZOS has the chops for something hardcore like polearms or exotics, too much work) or a new profession like Jewelcrafting. Some people are holding out hope for Spellcrafting, but I just don't see it happening. Again, they can't even maintain a semblance of balance with what they have now, and a huge open-ended system like Spellcrafting would be a balancing nightmare, both in PvE and PvP.

I don't expect the announcement as early as last year though. Like I said, Morrowind had a huge name recognition, and they could get preorders off of that alone. With Summerset (assuming it is Summerset), they will have their work cut out for them trying to sell that. Might have to go really hard into Pay2Win to get people to buy this time around.

If I remember correctly they just said there would be 1 chapter (and 2 DLCs and 1 free update) per year, not necessarily that they would come out at the same time or in the same order.

I suspected Morrowind was easier for them to do because it included a location from a previous game and a class they'd been working on before release, so there was relatively little they had to do from scratch. Whereas if they're doing Summerset they only have established lore and the design for Auridon to work from, and as far as I've heard they don't have any more scrapped mechanics in reserve. Except spell crafting and I'd be surprised if they add that because of the balance issues.

So I suspect it's going to come later in the year, maybe even in the run up to Christmas.
    Sabbathius wrote: »

For me it's pretty much the opposite - Morrowind was a case of 'been there, done that'. Especially the way ZOS were milking the nostalgia factor and making a point of everything looking as similar as possible given the time between the two. The storyline was somewhat new, but other than that it didn't sound like there would be a lot that was new or exciting if you'd played the Morrowind game.

Whereas Summerset or other rumoured locations like Black Marsh or Elsweyr are much more exciting to me precisely because it's somewhere we've never been and know relatively little about.
