They've always shown hair. Just not the hair that you picked. There is only a small set of "hat hair" in this game, and the hair style that you picked is then mapped to one of these hat hair possibilities. Generally, the hat hair that you get resembles the regular hair you picked, but not always. For several hair styles, the corresponding hat hair is very short and that's why it looks like you lost your hair.
The one exception that I know of is the Magenta hair from the Dwarven Crown Crates. That hair style is intact even in the presence of hats.Edited by code65536 on December 17, 2017 6:21PMPC/NA ― GM of Nightfighters
