This is my second one. The only event that I really don't like is the lock picking one. Otherwise, this is the sort of event that I like.
Really? That one? Have you not done the one in Grahtwood or Behtnik yet? Picking locks is way better than scrambling for kills.

On the first day, trying to get a hit in on the Grahtwood bugs is a pain. A high CP with Caltrops was there yesterday pretty much one-shotting the bugs. Fortunately, you only have to hit 5 of them one time to get the achievement. After you have the achievement, you can bribe your way past that quest.

Behtnik is the player's problem for assuming that the wasps and wolves in the quest area (circles) are the only ones that will give you what you need. As near as I can tell, any wolf or wasp on the island will do it. Most players just stick by the town, but if there are a lot of people there, it is better to go out further. Yeah, there is some time involved doing that. It is necessary to judge the crowd to determine which is better. Fortunately, herd mentality means that people will tend to hang out in the circle areas, so moving away is usually immediately successful.

Shadowfen fishing is just knowing that there are two areas, one that is close to the wayshrine that everyone goes to, and one that is further away that fewer people go to.

As for lock picking. What I need is a potion of lock picking, or Nocturnal's Skeleton Key.

If you do the quests for the first time, it certainly can be fun and entertaining. But if you already did them a couple of times last year, there is almost nothing to do. I don't feel like I want to do these quests again, portable mug is good and new mementos are nice but for long time players - this is it...

Also, the fishing holes respawn really fast - there is no need to run from one to the other. Once it's depleted I usually only have time for a quick inventory check, maybe do a round of dancing and it pops back up. The worst part about fishing, imo, is everyone's pets being in the way...

The Nord celebration animations are the best. The cannonball is fun but the animation as you warm yourself by the fire is great.

Considering I was on a business trip from Atlanta to Milwaukee when the event launched, and it was 2 degF in Milwaukee, I will tell you that those animations are dead on!!

The drop rates definitely seem better to me. I had an alt that needed 2 motifs and Hissmir. So I ran her through the series and managed to get THREE Hissmir recipes on one day, one alt. Still have tons of doubles (and triples and more) of stuff though. Furniture seems to drop really low comparatively though. Ran through twice yesterday, once today, and got 2 lights. But since I don't have but the free inn room, not a huge deal.

I wish that cannonball animation was a permanent emote. However -the cold ones are /cold and /colder - for next time you're in Milwaukee :)

I'm quite disappointed tbh - the new runeboxes are just permanent versions of the consumables from last year (which I still have a ton of), and the "lamps, lanterns, and lighting" aren't unique as I was hoping - just items I can for the most part already craft. :( It feels as though zero effort has gone into making new items for this year.
