    Spellcrafting would be cool, but honestly they haven't even hinted at that since 2014, so it's very unlikely, not to mention all the balance issues it would bring, which considering the mess they've already got on their hands right now, I doubt they'd wanna get into something like that. But who knows, they've done crazier things before. My main hope is just that they give people a reason to come back to the game as a lot have stopped playing in the past months.

    I don't see spell crafting. It would create such a huge disparity among players, those in the know would completely dominate those not so.

    With the balance issues since the beginning I think they should hold off on spell crafting. I am extremely excited to hear the year ahead, but I hope to hear more than just new zones, we need some performance and quality of life to give us more to do at "endgame".

    I'd like something simple you know, like a toggle for armor thigh flaps or weapon dye.
    I have no will left to help with lag until high action per minute devs play via a vpn from Asia or Oceania to NA and live stream thier experience of thier actions being declined by the server because they are out of frame.

    No system that can be applied to expand on the breadth of experiences available to all players should be held up because of Competitive Content concerns. Ever. If only because of the population disparity.

    Spellcrafting I just can't see being good for the game, or fun. It is either going be way too OP and ridiculous or so restrictive that everyone will be wondering why it is was added in the first place. There is tons of things more needed for ESO than some half-built spellcrafting system.

    Poisons added 30 combat effects. I'm not sure there's enough left over to make Spellcrafting a worthwhile system to develop.

    I'd be happy just getting good story content in 2018. Not everything needs a new grind attached to it.

    All Spellcrafting will do is make combat way more diverse and interesting.... as long as nothing ridiculously OP pops up that isn’t nerfed on PTS ofc.

    People could play through content using full Flame, Shock, or Ice builds. Cool stuff like that. Most importantly they could do this and actually be powerful, which is impossible for “Ice Mage” builds atm.

    Idk. I look forward to it immensely though I can understand the sentiment of those opposed to Spellcrafting. In the end, it will 100% be great or horrible based on how Wroble handles it.

    I think at first it will be completely broken and ridiculous but fun as hell. I mean who doesn't want to try playing a magicka DK with fear or invisible spell, or NB with some crazy reflect or something.

    Then after some tweaks it will be more balanced (and hopefully still fun).

    Not to rain on anyone's parade, but the only time Spellcrafting has been mentioned after the first promo material for it was released was some time about a year ago when ZOS announced that they had no one actively working on the system and 'no ETA' on whether anyone would be working on it in the future.

    Q1: Major Quality of life update. The recently datamined wardrobe system. Jewelcrafting. Two-handed weapons count as two slots. Morrowind and CWC purple and blue furnishing recipes added to the Hlaalu writ furnisher and now also found more frequently in Morrowind and CWC or just everywhere. Homestead update that eliminates the furnishing cap entirely (furnish until your computer explodes), furnishing storage added through ESO+, mannequins, lootable urns and baskets and stuff, some storage allowed in chests and drawers and wardrobes, planters and gardening capability, fully functional NPCs (laundering, guild banking, daily writ pick ups and turn ins, undaunted quests)-- basically all the little conveniences and functionality everyone belabors should be added to housing. Consoles fixed--whatever the major thing that is happening over there that is killing the game for console players.

    Q2: New Chapter. Spellcrafting! New weapons! New zone! New dynamic large-scale events with highly desirable rewards including new, rare mounts and costumes added to all zones! New class: Battlemage! Or Necromancer! Or whatever. New optimization, no more slideshows when playing our new zone (Summerset) and when playing PVP--no matter how junky your system is. On that note, ESO is now coming to Switch. New battleground that plays like Alterac Valley in WoW, because that's the only PVP I've ever enjoyed. New Trial. Just... new stuff, lots of new stuff. Surprises are nice. Quantity sells it. Quality is paramount. Fill up our eccentric new Summerset buildings and caves with beautiful new assets to steal from and this time, open all the doors and let the purple furnishing recipes flow.

    Q3: This is the dungeon one, right? :/ Umm, next.

    Q4: Clockwork City was a charismatic and unique experience, something as awesome as this but with more... danger.

    ::::Of course, maybe only four of these things have any probability of happening, but I can dream regardless. >:)::::

    What I expect:

    1) Some new Wrothgar sized DLC they expect us to pay another $40 for (with another $40 locked class), 2 dungen dlc's, and one genuine dlc with quests that you can subscribe for. The quests content will be good. The dungeon content will continue the trend of being less good, less run by players, and having more bizarre and difficult achievements with skins etc associated.

    2) More talk about lowering the ceiling / raising the floor which will not happen because Wrobel is inept. Maybe they will add another 15k to the ceiling while lowering the floor like they did this year with morrowind onward. Maybe things improve some. There is really no trend to it. It is kind of like watching a random number generator for patterns. Sometimes it seems like there are but there are not. Sometimes the Wrobel seems like he is doing good things and sometimes evil but he is really just doing things with so little understanding that they are effectively random.

    3) They will be utterly silent about cheat engine / cheats despite what seems to be a growing prevalence of this in PVP. It will be like it is not a thing.

    4) There will be no talk of how bugged the scaling of heavy / light attacks is with respect to damage/charge time, resources/charge time, and the lineup of the actual animations to the charge times of the attack.

    5) They will talk about fixing things like the long loadscreen trains you get in PVP (the reason I am here typing this right now as I was cursed with them in PVP tonight and a reboot only gave me two clean ones before they started again.) They will not actually fix these things because they laid off the programmers who knew the code well enough to do so in September of 2014 and so will probably never find the problems.

    I'm still interested to see what Matt says though. He has made some very good game direction choices in the past with making ESO less a normal MMO and more like skyrim and choosing to make the one tamriel system. Perhaps he has some good ideas though I know some underlings that I expect will make a mess of them.
    I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.
