Anyone else burnt out of this game ?

I am so burnt out of this game that i couldn't even start the game to kill 1 monster each day and also complete dungeon during the next event.
The game was right there installed right in front of me. Whispering to me "click click" and i still couldn't

The worst part is ill miss these goodies when I return to the game when the new chapter is announced for my ES lore dosage .
And I freaking bought 200 crates at a time once and now I denied free ones.

I am not telling this game is boring or something . This game is awesome and most of the players in it.

Personally, after two years, I've come to hate it.

This is mostly due to the gameplay changes meaning I'm not able to run like I used to, or have the freedom of build I used to.

When I cant play my way like the tagline says, yeah I got burnt out fairly quickly.

I think ZOS missed the bus when they didnt realize that what most people wanted was literally Oblivion/Skyrim Online, with pretty much all the *** implications included.

Sometimes I get burnt out. I play another game then after 3 days or so I start to crave playing this game.

Yup. Game became way more casual than it used to be, killed the whole fun for me tbh. I'm usually just logging on to do a few achievements or decorating the house but that's it, feels like there is nothing to do in eso for an endgame player.

If your ESO install whispers "click, click" to you then you have much bigger issues than burnout.

On a serious note, stop playing if it's not fun for you anymore.

I still have fun with the game just tired of the Grind to get something all the time, want a unique armor grind till your fingers bleed, want to explore the lore of the interregnum period that ended the Seconds Era good luck, but hey at least there is a grind to get to the books, then a grind to get away from said books. Want a house that isn't a whole in some Hotel , well give us so much of your money as per we don't care.
In general kind of tired of grind, demand for money from me just to get somewhere, and tired of the fact they promised many things and failed just as many times. They promised Tamriel and we got small locations but hey Morrowind was added with that region being complete almost a few small areas need be better than the rest of the map that is either too small and or things are in the wrong location, take Orsinium for example need I say more.

How anyone can play the same game for "years" without any sort of break is beyond me. Especially a game such as ESO which encourages a huge dose of repetition and inane farm after farm. I'm just back after 3 months away and it feels ok again. Last time i took a break before that was for a year.

I sometimes do too, Ive taken a few several month long breaks from the game when I feel burnt out, and always come back feeling refreshed. I took a break a bit after Morrowind came out and came back a little before Clockwork City hit most recently.

Don't feel forced to play, there's no harm in taking a break for awhile. Don't lose sight of the main purpose of playing video games: having fun.

I don't like how the game has developed since Morrowind, I currently only log in for my raids and a bit of PvP now and then. Apart from that there is really nothing I find enjoyable any more, most contend is just pure facerolling through enemies that die after 2-3 hits. This isn't a new thing, but I has become even more dominant and boring lately. Before Morrowind it was at least fun with the endless resources. I wouldn't say I'm burned out, even after nearly 5000 hours played, but there is just not much fun to do currently.

Personally, I’m burnt out with the company’s BS, not the game itself. They’re worse than EA.

I get burnt out a lot on this game so i take regular breaks. Whenever I come back the joy I had before returns.

Its possible to make intricate dungeons and quests in an mmo as well, and there are some in this game, however, with the dumbing down of all overland content and the mega short dungeons with 0 reward at the end, and with events that make visible the GLARING issues that ZoS refuses to fix, has indeed put a sour taste in my mouth. I recently restarted skyrim, and even on normal difficulty there is at least some difficulty to the enemies, and the bosses most definitely. Dungeons are far better crafted ( not graphically, from a design perspective ) and you get a sense of accomplishment when beating that ultimate baddie at the end, AND you get a reward ( boss chest ) at the end of each dungeon / quest. What do you get in this game? Some rng nonsense that is useless 99.9 % of the time?

I have taken a hiatus from the game, or am playing a lot less . If I will resub after the next month, really depends on the roadmap that should be released soon.

they had a real shot with this game at morrowind- but not having any attention to what people wanted in pvp- i.e. fixes to lag and loadings creens, proper rankings in battlegrounds, custom matches- and a KDA that reflects skill not activity, excluded the hardcore competitive pvp gamers, no new variety in pve with thin events- excluded the pve players, and crowns - well those pissed off everyone.

none of the original streamers even play the game any more- sypher, fengrush, deltia, @blobsky etc- all barely play let alone make content, why? obviously due to burning out, time, boredom, etc- but they also didnt support the community in the way they should have. other players playing games are making money from the game now- content makers for this game dont make anyting- they havent supported their communtiy the way the commuinty has supported them- look at al the add on creators, the content creators, the classy thing would have been to have brought them into the fold and supported the community-instead of hiring a couple of people to moderate the forums to appease the communtiy.

But it is an issue. I started playing this game as a solo player used to rpgs, & it was only when I finally got one char to max lavel & joined a guild to run dungeons that I found out how 'rubbish' my build was (nightblade in heavy armour, points evenly distributed in mag/stam/health - lol). Obviously changed things!

It is the disconnect between running through the quests / main game and then getting to end game dungeons & trials. It's almost like there are 2 different games. If you have only knowledge of rpgs (like Skyrim) you have no preparation or explanation about the roles of tank or healer. Was a steep learning curve!

And there seems to be a huge pressure for conformity in the end game with the pursuit of increased dps the only aim, which means that there are a limited number of builds considered viable - which is a bit dull, and seems more of a test of how fast you can push the buttons to do the best rotation than a fun experience.

I have many chars now, and there are some that although I love playing I know that they are never going to be that good because of how the game is structured. One of them is a duel wielding mage that is such fun for pve - sustaining resources can be problematic - but I know that if I want to do more challenging stuff with her I will have to respec radically.

Please don't think this is a complaint against endgame - it's great fun & I love doing trials with my guild. But just to say why I agree with op - they may have different reasons for how they feel.

And don't hate the game. Love it.

Easy fix, delete your old toon, create new ones level up the normal way instead of skyreach carries.
And laugh your way levelling like a noob in dungeons.

Starting to head down that road again. Such is life, happens with most games. I'll cut down my play time and find other things to do for a while.

Just make a new toon from scratch, form a fixed group and play together on regular time (weekly, twice a week,...) , go on Teamspeak/Discord. It's great fun! Don't be shy.
Don't use CP's, don't use high-end gear, ... you'll get better and better, in tactics and reaction-time.
Challenging, great fun and certainly not boring, I promise!

The key in my view is not to play a game for more than a couple of hours a day, to play several characters rather than just one, and to play other games as well as doing other things. Above all, it's critical to remember that it's just a game and not a race or competition, the journey is invariably more enjoyable than the destination - most complaints about a game relate to the endgame so delay that for as long as possible. Anyone who plays a game too intensely will burn out sooner or later, and then it's a case of taking a decent break from the game.

This game is very good, but everytime I try to get back into it I keep getting "burnt out" and quit playing.

Especially when they're *** up my builds everytime I come back.

Nope. I play 14 different char's and always find something entertaining to do. Because I do what I want to do. It's a hobby not another job.

I quit before the big patch in April 2014 and came back one and a half month ago "?" I'm allready kinda burned out even if i got morrowind aswell.

Feels like there is 4 things to do. Farm gold or achievements or farm veteran trials or farm player 24/7 in pvp for emperor.
So much work for and repetition for such a low reward.. Might stay for a month or 2 more max but i don't think i will be able to do much more than that.

It's normal to get burnt on MMOs, happened me several times, what I do on those times its to take a break or hiatus until i feel up to it again

I felt like this after the first month when I got my first character to level 50.
What the hell do I do now? All dungeons are done, seeing invites for a trial in zone chat is rare, invites for World Boss groups are even more rare unless you buy Morrowind or Orsinium, PvP doesn't appeal to just anyone, Battlegrounds is just a spamfest of skills (like PvP in Cyrodiil), gear grinding isn't exactly worth it when you know patches exist, and dolmen groups are just the same thing all the time.

Ad hominem and nonsense. You have no idea what the devs are feeling—not the faintest clue. It’s insulting and reductionist to assume they are creatively bankrupt or uncaring of the art/ product that they make.

All too often here we see people projecting their personal frustration (often from situations in the real world, even) into this game, which is not and will never be a perfect utopia and escape from whatever issues we’re facing.

It’s a game, at most a hobby/ sport that we play with likeminded hobbyists. If it’s anything more than that, then the person in question needs to step away from the screen for a good long while until they can sort out their priorities.
