Revisit the 10 Races Motif Styles, Edits and Collision

With every new Motif Style added to the game, the designs get better, more intricate, etc. But the original 10 Race Styles seem to have been neglected for a long time, and look incredibly out of place now. Textures are simpler and blotchy. Thigh Guards and Crotch Flaps still have floating and clipping issues.

The Khajiit Heavy Chest remains one of my favorite looking pieces of armor in the game, but I'm restrained from enjoying it fully because of, mainly, the thigh guards and gigantic crotch flap. As you can see the large thigh guards push any melee weapon completely off the character model, which has always been an issue for this style for years. And the front flap, at least in the particular personality I have selected causes it to clip badly into the Skinchanger Legs. I don't know how it looks using the default idle pose, but having some kind of collision model for the armor so the flap always sits atop the leg armor would be a nice quality of life addition.

But personally I'd just prefer these things be removed entirely. If the armor would have thigh guards, they should be included in the leg armor piece itself, instead of the chest piece. And the front and back flaps for chest pieces should just not be there at all. Or at least have a new setting in the gameplay options menu to hide all accessory armor parts which would include flaps, and guards on the thighs, elbows, and knees.

those are the standart motifs for a reason, these are the ones you get for free. then you go ahead and collect motifs so you can look shiny and cool.
Odd stuff like clipping issues don't bother me that much, but I agree I would love a fix for those.

in all seriousness, ZOS can hit two birds with one stone when they come up with transmog.
If we had a transmog system all these cool new motifs would have a reason to exist.

especially for overland and dungeon sets it would be amazing.

Dunmer is another one in desperate need of change. Make it look more like the concept art.

They're never going to touch up the original motifs. Not after the outcry that came when they redid the Orc and Redguard ones.

If hip flaps are included in pants only it would make colouring/style look terrible. Imagine you want a tunic style, with a red tunic and green legs, well you'd have a red shirt with a green skirt and green legs. Combining styles would look abrupt and badly done.

Id rather them just fix it properly than eliminating the way our chest pieces layer over our leggings.

You only get the one that belongs to your character's Race for free, still have to loot the other ones. Even if they're dirt cheap these days, still doesn't mean they're freely available.

A lot of the Race styles still hold value to people over the new, flashier ones. Also people I'm sure would like to wear their character's cultural styles as a form of immersion gameplay.

Clipping should be fixed. Being free motifs shouldn't be a reason not to.

Just because they are inexpensive or free doesn't mean that they can't look nice. I really like the khajiit light armor chest because of the really pretty pattern in the material. I was going to make it but I realized the hip guards were ginormous. I think the crotch flaps and hip guards could be toned down.

Khajiit Light Chests were immediately the first thing I crafted and fell in love with. It's practically just a casual shirt whereas most other styles are legitimate armor or combat gear. That's why I just love the style so damn much. But I agree those gigantic slabs of wood hanging off the hips completely ruin it.

Indeed. Especially the Helmet and the Shoulder parts look nothing like what I was hyped with.

To add to OP, I think some original shields look so small and tiny it's flat out laughable to use them.
