Where is the place to go to look at suggested BUILDS - Theory crafting is NOW DOA!!!

NOS an a most of the good build guys quit after the last update, so where is the site to go to to find some decent builds. I loved using the Theory Crafting site, NOS and other like him came up with some great ideas and detailed out everything including CP etc. Personally i'm not good at coming up with builds on my owe and way to old to try and learn, just trying to stay competive. here's a link to that site for those who have never seen it.

tks in advance

Tamriel Foundry, that you linked, is the best central source for finding builds.

Regardless for where one finds them, they need to make sure the builds are good since over the years many have posted builds they thought were cool.

For PvP, make sure it fits your play style.

For PvE trials (and even dungeons) make sure they have actual parses included. Bug plus for a parse on an actual trial boss where one is not just stacking and burning though solid self buffed parses on dummies is fine. The larger the dummy the better.

I agree OP. It seems like every time I look up a build they date back 2-3 years. Trying to find stuff for the current patch is fewer. It's also completely frustrating trying to make a build because even things that SEEM like they should build well, often don't.

It's also hard to find a build while one is under 690 CP and does not have a full tier set of purple. So much revolves around gear and CP that its hard to determine what will work well and what will not. I am tired of spending 3000+ gold to respect only to have it be another useless build.

The other thing that frustrates me is that I cant seem to find anything I like based on how I want to play. It seems like anything I find that IS legit goes beyond the scope of how I want to play.

So far every time I have made something that feels like it hits hard, has some sustain, and health I go to a dolem to test it. I often feel like I can actually see my toon progressing and I get excited, but then I face a mob solo and realize just how bad my build is. Frankly, between this and the crown store pricing/loot crates I am getting turned off pretty fast from ESO and I have only been here about two months (I think my third month sub starts on the 8th or something).

He doesn't do a dummy test so how can I tell if his build is actually good?

that and Whoeler's for tank builds is pretty much where I go to. it does have a LOT of limitations (in that it only covers few possible builds, assumes that you will be playing in a set group etc), but if you want meta builds assuming Meta groups? that is where you go. it does offer several stages of cp distribution starting with 160, as well as starter gear sets that will make farming your BiS possible. so.. there's that?

if you want anything more creative, I'm afraid there isn't as much out there, and you'll just have to come up with it on your own.

yes, both sites have information for a newer player and more experienced which is a plus. Alcast has some build information for those more interested in having more sustatian as well so it covers much. Ofc both have a good amount of experience in their roles.

The key with most builds you online is that they're optimized for vet trial play where all the buffs, de-buffs etc are provided.

You must adjust for 4-man play or you end up with lower dps than you could have otherwise.

Yeah ... it's been a bit of a drag finding good written builds lately.

Nos and Jeckll and Yolo used to keep really great build guides updated and they don't anymore. Some of the guys from the big raid groups (Alcast, Fear Turbo, etc.) still do written guides but they're mostly just lists of skills and gear without any kind of explanation. I guess I just got spoiled relying on Jeckll's stamblade guide for so long ... it was leaps and bounds better than what anyone else does.

Not personally a fan of the Youtube format everyone does these days, which is a much lazier way to go about it. Just a video of a target skeleton parse and a Superstar screencap really isn't that useful.

Game mechanics are the same across platforms. Meaning, his builds will work for you even if you play on the x-box.
Xynode's build videos tend to be on the long side because he goes in depth about not only what works, but why it works, and that seems to be exactly the type of content you are asking for. The relationship between gear, champion points, and passives......even goes over the rotation.
Don't be put off just because you play on x-box. The game is the same. Platform has no bearing on a build.
He doesn't do a "meta" build, there's no cookie cutter "you must do it this way" stuff. He will flat out say you can change this or that, and how many gear sets he's gone through. It's not just "here's my gear, here's a skeleton test"....he doesn't believe in showing you a test. He'd rather give you an idea and let you tweak it to your playstyle and test it out for yourself.

Just sayin...if you want meta cookie cutter stuff, plenty of videos out there. If you truly want theory crafting, I haven’t found better than Xynode.

Yolo quit the game a while ago.

Theorycrafting is sill going on but there is definitely less people investing time to create threads to showcase things. Plus most information is spread all over internet so its hard to find the right page.

I don't really like guides in their own individual websites just because the creators don't put enough time into actually writing for the guides or they insist on writing guides for classes they're not that experienced at or didn't spend enough time theorycrafting on just so they can complete their collection of guides for their website.

I really would like to see more love for theorycrafting in Tamriel Foundry, because it really is a great hub for people to post their own builds and guides in what they specialize in and are passionate about. There's a lot to learn from in just one place with so many different guides made by different people with different playstyles.

I also would like to shamelessly plug my own guides that I've posted on Tamriel Foundry; I've made one for stamina Dragonknights and another for stamina Sorcerers. I go really in-depth about different topics in each one, covering the basics such as gear and abilities to advanced things like gory details on racial passives and how ping affects your rotations; hopefully, the style is what you guys are looking for.

Honestly the best place is tamerial foundry. They will explain why it works, how it works and tweaks you can do to make it your own. You just don't get that service elsewhere on YouTubers or meta pushers, or the very questionable eso academy. I just wish tamerial foundry sorted it by roles.

What DPS do you get on his build in a trial?

He doesn't do a dummy test so how can I tell if his build is actually good?

On his magsorc, I got a 25k parse with purple gear. That's solo on a dummy with ele drain. If you got more people putting down lightning walls it's going to be way higher. If you gold out the weapons, it will be higher too. Raid buffs are going to up that too, alkosh, warhorn, combat prayer, spell power cure etc. The more adds the better too.

Here are the pros of it:
    1) Its also constant damage. You dont have to worry about running out of magic.

    2) The sheilds are big as well because you have 40k magic.

    3) You can run blue food instead of witch mothers, so you have more health.

    4) Its cheap to run. You dont need spell power pots. With surge you get massive healing as well as major sorcery.

The only downside to it is that you are running all light armor. I run a heavy kena divines.
