Reading these comments, one can infer that most of the players of this game don't appreciate a real tank. It's an interesting survey, and together with my expierence in this event, is the base why I decided that I will keep out of the random queue forever.

I actually appreciate a legitimate tank a great deal. I appreciate them more than a legitimate healer, but maybe that's because I don't have a habit of standing in stupid? lul.

But, if something isn't broken why fix it.... seriously if all we want to do is speedrun the dung, then really, I'm less concerned with roles and more concerned with the clock at that point.

Time is money in this game and most aspects of life, so I do believe if it ain't broke don't fix it.

It literally makes no difference if it's on normal.. sure veteran is a different story there but on normal.. no need to get upset if it's a good DPS.
I queued on my tank as a tank
and here is where a problem comes in.
another tank queued. as a DPS. a tank queuing as a DPS. that's what people should be getting angry about..
it was taking to long with 2 tanks, 1 healer, 1 dps.

I want people to stop being so dramatic about things that are not actually going to impact the game in any positive manner. Demanding ZOS "do something about fake [insert role]" is going to solve nothing. The easiest thing to do about players queuing for roles they dont actually fill in PUG Dungeon Runs is to NOT queue at all in the GF. The easiest solution is to find some friends and queue up with them.

But sure, lets continue on with this dog and pony show of entitled rage.

If the tank isn't doing the job you have "Vote to kick" for getting rid of him. Nothing else is needed. Half the time I am running with guildies and we check all three roles to circumvent the group finder. Don't make us have to slot a taunt as well please.

It really doesn't have to do with appreciation or lack of. It's your choice to queue for a random or not but it'll have little effect on the matter. Merely your loss.

Its simple, if a tank isn't tanking, a DPS isn't DPSing or a healer isn't healing, you vote to kick them, if your teamates agree, they are gone.

Oh you just reminded me of this great story. Me and three of my guild mates were going the undaunted vet daily, and we wanted to grab a random just to quicken things slightly so we queued as the tank, healer, and a DPS in other to make sure we got a dps.

Well the random wasn't too happy about the fact that our tank wasn't a real tank so he initiated "vote-to-kick" on our guild mate after the first boss. So we waited until we got to the final boss, and then we kicked him just before fighting it

I had to use the GF sometimes this event because my friends weren't always on and I have more chars than them, but even if this event returns, I won't be doing it again, no matter the rewards. Hell, I dropped the last day because I simply couldn't take it anymore.

Coming from a MMO where I exclusively played PVP, I could never imagine that PVE would be even more toxic lol.

I mean there's 4 guys, everyone in the same team, trying to complete an objective against an AI. Still they can't say HI or ty. They can't appreciate others role (or theirs). They think they are the best players and don't need anyone else. They are rude and selfish, can't be patient to new players. And then the verbal toxicity itself. I think I won't miss much, I'll stick to playing with known educated people when needed. For me, a nice experience is better than a game reward, that's what I learnt here.

All fake tanks can clear all content nekkid and bare handed. We all should know that. Anybody who wants a tank or a healer in their group is a lowlife scrub who needs to l2p.

As said before: I'll carry if I can, but I'll boot a fake tank in a heartbeat. No need for ZoS to intervene, especially as a fair number of people will 3/4-DD dungeons with their guilds through groupfinder.

Fake tank are just consequences. Real problem is Fake dps that queue as Dps. Totally for a dps dummy check to be able to queue as a dd^^.

Real tank here, with vet trials completions (as a tank) and all.

Ignoring the bias in this poll, I don't feel that the developers should be forced to ENFORCE our meta on players when WE have the tools to enforce roles ourselves.

Vote kick exists for a reason. Use it to purge people who try and tank without a taunt.

Besides, anyone with a shield (spell) or a shield (weapon) can tank normals. Seriously. All you need is a taunt.

Not at all. Running content with a good tank as opposed to a bad or fake one is night and day.

I have friends who are great tanks, and I consider myself passable as well and I do appreciate them.

The problem is that the OP's solution (must have a taunt slotted) is not efficient in a game where you can swap gear and skill bars with the click of a button. Why should someone run around the overworld with inefficient tanking gear/skills while they wait for a group when they can just swap to in when they get in?

Biased poll is biased.

OP, your suggestion will do NOTHING to fix the problem, as you see it. Anyone can slot a taunt/ice staff, queue as a tank, and unslot once the dungeon loads. Also, it unfairly penalizes organized groups who want to run a dungeon with three DPS and a hybrid healer/tank, or whatever.

If you can't survive a dungeon due to a fake tank with poor DPS, either leave the group, or vote to kick the offending fake tank. Another alternative, if it bothers you that much, is to pre-form your groups with a legitimate tank.

I am at the point if the tank is not DPSing and not tanking, I let them die to focus on DPSing. Then that makes me look like the "fake healer". Reality is, I am not a babysitter. Pull your weight through DPS or tanking. I do not want to chase your spastic behind all over the place, because you are scared to get hit and don't know how a healer in ESO works. If they are in my ring and in front of me... cool. If not, oh well. You're an idiot.

I am not specced as DPS. I basically just use shards, blockade, and vampire bane. Its fine against trash, but against 3 tier bosses its painfully slow.

And, of course, I want the guy who can take a hit and dps. Outdps me and don't run when you get aggro then I will gladly make sure you are getting healed. I usually try to stand as close as possible to the tank... not possible with fake tanks that bolt at the sign of danger.

I did vet BC1 last night... Both tanks we got were fake tanks. The first tank could do nice dps, but the final boss would one shot him(it was really annoying and expensive to heal the entire group since he couldnt keep aggro). We kicked him.. got another fake tank that was even worse dps. I am not sure how we did, but through a lot of kiting and I guess the other two dps knew what they were doing we got it done. Its one thing to fake tank through normal.. but on vet?? Where the boss will one shot you and the dps? Why are you wasting your time? If your theory is that you can do something if everything goes perfect... do not do a PUG. Everyone screws up, spaces out, has different levels of lag, or has an emergency at some point.

This makes me laugh cuz I tank in a DPS set up most the time and out DPS most people (in PUGs) so I have agro 90% of the time

Then you're not a fake tank.... A tank keeps aggro and doesn't die in under 2 seconds. Why do you feel this applies to you?

You would be lucky to have gotten one of my dps's that I qued all event as all three roles. I averaged 55% group dps and can solo all the stuff just fine. Also, it is not like I didn't have the agro most of the time anyway given the massive damage differential.

What they REALLY need to fix is needing to hit "F" 50 times to get a dungeon.

The problem is not solved if one of the three is so mentally skilled to reject over and over the kick. Maybe cos they are friends. So they feel justified to waste someone else's time.
