I have a better idea different armor and saddles you can get for Gems. Like for 200 gems you can make The Alliance horse bear your Guild Crest, for 400 gems you can put your white Imperial horse in full battle armor.

Here's how stay off my horse as much as possible and speed up my horse when I need it.

When I farm I wear 5 pc Darkstride + 5 pieces Fijord's. I also wear 2 piece cyrodil's ward with a bow on the backbar. I switch to the bow before mounting and get the mount speed bonus. Before I start farming I also grab The Steed Mundus for a slight bump in running speed and I use Lavafoot soup-and-saltrice to help with the stamina drain of running around so much. Be sure rapid maneuver is slotted as well. It's a stamina drain, but you can manage it. If you don't have rapid maneuver, go do the tutorial in cyrodil. No pvp necessary, just the tutorial and you get it.

I don't think it would be worth it to get the steed if I didn't have it in a guild hall, so you'll need to weigh that. Also, it's best not to take on too many enemies as this set-up isn't the best for dps. It's actually not terrible for overland, but you surely wear better gear most of the time. If you don't have a stam toon for farming, this you should probably use the serpent mundus.

i have the same set up on an orc farmer and yes its faster than many horses, but when I'm on other toons it so like i can't not pick that up…and oh look a bother and another...

I prefer Jailbreaker and Fiords with steed mundus. My crafter/farmer is a NB so I dont have a great source of Minor expedition. With those sets and rapids, I fly. Pretty sure I have been reported. Haha

I was hoping this was a thread about collecting parts for a mount, sorta like the clockwork dummy.
It would be a cool way to get a mount.

I would be against selling something in the crown store to poach nodes from new players.
