Why does rubedite items look inferior to voidsteel?

Seriously this has been bugging me for a long time now, voidsteel is all flashy with dark steel and gold, fine leathers and all that. Then you move onto rubedite and it just became dull iron for the details and dull red for everything else, the leather wrapping goes back to black or some darker shade as well. It just doesn't look as appealing and high class.
